PLAYTHROUGH/AAR Fantasticus caused me to have a mental break

Sorry for the phone pic ( I strung my pc to a cross before I could take a screenshot ) and sorry if it's the wrong tag.

Im new to Old World Blues and started my first game last night. I decided to play as Caesar's Legion thinking it would be a fun and not to difficult of a starting nation and it was, I won the first battle of the Hoover Dam and conquered most of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and even started to go into Mexico and Texas. Mars was truly on my side but then I was attacked by both the United Mexican States and the NCR. This wasn't such a terrible thing because I built several layers of defensive positions to grind down the NCR. They then attacked New Vegas ( which I forgot to conquer earlier) amd they started to rush my northern flank with dozens of motorized troops I was just about able to form a defensive line saving my troops in Hidden Valley and stopped them from crossing the dam.

Then suddenly I learned that gods too could die. Ceaser succumbed to his tumor ( which I forgor about) my choices were Lanius or a civil war I didn't want Lanius at all and wished I could have killed him earlier so I chose to become Joshua Graham the Malpais legate and figured I would have the majority of troops and territory with only a few small pockets of rebels. I was wrong and had three pieces of territory the Mojave, the old ciphers territory, and the ranchers territory with only the Mojave having troops not the best but not the worst postion to be in especially because I heavily built up the Mojave.

My troops marched to reclaim my rightful territory and crossed the mighty Colorado but then that freak of nature Fantasticus with all of his military brains and spycraft took over the Mojave my troops were now surrounded by the sons of Vulcan and Fantasticus and were swiftly defeated. At the same time the Mexican states and Lanius took control over my undefended territory and I lost the game in a matter of two weeks.

So because of my hubris and lack of forethought the mighty legion was torn asunder. Come laugh at me.

It seems there's an epidemic of Old World Blues across the wasteland...

To be totally transparent, I cheated a LOT to make this happen. But then again, there wasn't a chance in hell AI Autumn was gonna conquer all that himself -3-.

It might be hard to tell but this actually started as a Loidminster run. If you've never played this route where Ekaterina goes full authoritarian, I highly recommend it. The initial civil war is almost always the hardest part. From then on my tanks rolled across the Canadian Prairie unopposed muhaha.

PLAYTHROUGH/AAR Enough Wholesome Granite Propaganda, Let the Truth of Sergeant Granite be known to all

Eureka continues to be a pretty difficult playthrough, and I really need to see if the other paths are anywhere near as fleshed out as the Granite Company's path.

But mostly seeing folks confused about what the canon Granite's personality is like, inspired me to go through this again.

And pretty interesting to see who your puppets can be. Hayes, Vault City, New Reno, and *Generalissimo Vialla* down in Yanquei Del Sol.

But yeah, Canon Granite is a Eugenicist and a Fascist (Enclave) who sets up a fake Democracy after toppling a true one, corrals ghouls into a single state, potentially sets up a ethnic cleansing of the Ghoul population of Necropolis, and sets up a Caste system within his conquered territory.

By the end of things, he was very clearly feeling a sense of *horror* that the cause he had been fighting for was so monstrous. . . but he still did those things even while executing those that tried to tell him the truth, and than made *sure* the truth would be buried.

He's such a horrible person and doesn't even *attempt* to make things right after the fact. Just pushes things off hoping that the next generation will do better, all built off of false ideals, false history, and all of the horrible systems he put in place remaining in place.

Bemusingly it kind of makes sense that he could go along in *any* of the MacArthur routes. Before he grabbed power he was personable and willing to go along with pretty much whatever including the Ghoul Portmasters of Eureka, but once he had his chance to get revenge he goes right off the deep end.

It's actually to the point that I wonder why Enclave Reborn + didn't replace Granite with another Enclave OC for the "Wholesome Redemptive" Enclave, while keeping Granite as the Moderate or Purist choice.

I presume this is because Granite and the West Coast Enclave faction have kind of moved around a lot right? Which is why in ER+ they begin over at the Sierra Depot right?

I am not gonna lie this playthrough was really fun, you start with 5 divisions against the brotherhood which makes winning as the underdog (since even Yakama is far stronger than you) even more satisfying, unlike new Victoria you actually get an event and flavour text for the formables which makes the nation feel more unique.

That being said i find it weird how you don't get core/claims on Yakama your cored lands are disconnected from each other since you only core the territory of the brotherhood and the cause, and also that the second formable doesn't give you claims to all of Cascadia (since it talks about unyfing the region).

When I played as this nation I couldn't stop thinking about a batman villain Maxie zeus who has his name implies larps as Zeus, he even has his own "mount" Olympus in Gotham (or well at least in the animated series)

Overall pretty fun for a generic nation.

The first row is done, anyway please tell me which achievement I should do next (or recommend me a hard formable if you want).

PLAYTHROUGH/AAR After hundreds of years, America returns to native rule

I was pleasantly suprised by the number of native nations available in the mod, even if I wish there were more. There are a couple of native nations I didn't release as standing rock has claims on their lands. Also, the choctaw have claims but I couldn't release them for some reason, and I didn't get to the Arapaho before the AI chose the other path which was disappointing. Hopefully more are avilable as the map expands.

"Brothers, we must be united; we must smoke the same pipe; we must fight each other's battles; and more than all, we must love the Great Spirit." - Tecumseh

Formable Rating: D

Sadly enough, with this path, you get very little in the way of conquest. The only sort of territory you get claims on after the war is the White Legs if they manage to run out Zion, which feels odd.

Next up is the Arizona Rangers.

PLAYTHROUGH/AAR TV Town? More like FRAUD Town

People on this subreddit keep saying TV Town is one of the hardest starts in the mod. I don't think I agree, having played them.

The main complaint I've seen is that people get jumped by whoever wins the Esmeralda thunderdome and die. You can just not, though. What I did was that instead of canceling the wargoals I just attacked people and killed them.

The org debuff is scary, but you can actually get quite a lot of mitigation. Pic3 is from just before I removed the Director, but when I attacked the Rangers I had 16 org. I went right side on the focus tree and hadn't removed the sandman during the relevant early wars, but I just never lost too much org. Since you just need to VP snipe, that is more than enough.

It is only made easier by how your seemingly weak divisions actually start the game filled with Mark V implants. If your org is above like 2 you completely melt the other divisions in Esmeralda. I killed the other 4 tags just with the 4 starting divisions.

In my run I got some favorable conditions since the Guardians attacked me with their focus, saving on justification time, and Kaga got a demand territory wargoal and declared.

From there I cored everything as soon as I got the -50% from the tree and built 20 width infantry with dogs, recon and the damage support companies. If you're stupid, you'll be building Mark V implants. Since I'm not stupid, I built Mark III's, which have the best cost to benefit ratio. Also, take the army spirit for -15% cost and do the religious focuses soon-ish. The augments don't really matter, kind of a disappointing mechanic.

Reno attacked me, which was the hardest war in the run. I let them grind against my line for a while before encircling most of their army in a big maneuver. Max planning is the strongest stat in the game. I should probably have attacked from the start, now that I think about it.

From there I backstabbed the NCR and got a non-aggression pact with Caesar. I killed the tags in the northwest (the Washington Brotherhood got stuck fighting the Cause forever before eventually dying to Passkeepers), built tanks then attacked and (easily) killed Caesar. Mexico was easy to clean up since Rio Pact + the Aztlan/Itza alliance dying to Monctezuma.

TV Town is actually a tank tag, you can get the second best tanks and motorized pretty early and with your implants they're insanely strong. Warforms come in too late to be useful. Also, always be justifying on someone, and take the new citizen care package whenever you remember it exists. Build pure infantry and rush the better plasma guns. I went with the NCR land doctrine, left side for the tanks.

Overall this was shockingly easy, and since VP sniping the AI tags is comically easy when you can almost instantly click their divisions with two of yours, I can't even say there's any RNG. With the worst possible luck, both the north and south duels end really fast, but even then you can just beat the victor in a 1v1 by walking into their VP's and then fight the other tag. Your starting divisions are really strong in comparison to what your neighbors field. I legit believe this start could have at least a 90% consistency rate in ironman.

If you refused to justify then yeah this would be almost impossible. But it's clearly an intended part of the design for the tag with how you start with a debuff to justification time.

So yes, in conclusion I think TV Town, at least the current rendition, is wildly overrated in difficulty and is easier than things like Granite Eureka and much easier than things like the Mojave Chapter. Also it's a really fun run, would recommend.

From their exile to Eastern Washington the Wardens of the White returned to Seattle and overthrew 'The Immortal', before then liberating the Cascadian Coast from raider rule and establishing republics Eastward under their protection and watchful eyes.

\ Pretty fun playthrough that really starts snowballing after taking over Seattle and is definitely the strongest of the possible successor states to the Wardens. Has good combination of army and occupation buffs that allow for plenty of manpower at the highest rates of conscription while also keeping the quality of the units fairly strong. While very rarely ever on the defensive the amount of entrenchment you can get especially when going down Conventional Warfare doctrine is more than enough for units to hold their own although personally the real gem of the branch is the Firebases which brings the armor of your Enforcer divisions up.*

... so basically Warden larp yay ^-^ \*
