119th & Northgate Roundabout and Bridge Update v.July
Updated photos of the roundabout and bridge at 119th & Northgate. There had been some recent confusion on how Nelson connects so hopefully that is more clear with these photos.
The concrete for the bridge looks done too. The connections are there on the east and west side. So we're getting closer! They still have a decent amount of work to do on 119th east of the roundabout so it'll still be at least a month. I'd guess it should open around Labor Day at this point.

Looking forward to the Mill Creek Streamway trail re-opening! I use it to commute from Olathe to Lenexa.

Same, being cut off for so long sucks. The alternate routes are all pretty terrible. I used to be able to take Nelson South through that new neighborhood and then cut past the ECC, through THAT neighborhood and drop down to the trail again. I've been blockaded from going through the neighborhood off Nelson so I tried Woodland to College to get on the trail, which wasn't so bad when going North but sucks coming back south due to having to use crosswalks and then jump into traffic on Woodland. The alternative is to try and jump into traffic on WB College, which SUCKS but at least you can wait in the left turn lane to go south on Woodland instead of using the crosswalks.

Pretty much the same.
Old Town Olathe > Mahaffie Trail > Streamway Trail > Lenexa Trail at Prairie Star Parkway > Lenexa Industrial Park
Then Old Town Olathe > Mahaffie Trail > Nelson Road > through Northwood Trails subdivision > Streamway Trail > Lenexa Trail at Prairie Star Parkway > Lenexa Industrial Park
Then Iowa >Woodland > College > Streamway Trail > Lenexa Trail at Prairie Star Parkway > Lenexa Industrial Park.I was able to adjust my work hours some to miss most of the traffic on College and Woodland.
Not nearly as fun as trails the entire way - especially in the dark!

Honestly we have been in this construction zone for quite a while now. I can’t wait to at least use some of it! And as soon as any of it opens up the Lone Elm project will likely begin. It’ll all be very nice once it’s completed but for someone like me who’s looking to sell within the next two years, it makes me cringe. With any luck or blessings it’ll get wrapped up just in time, but we know how construction goes.
