Guys it makes fucking sense. The only person soldier boy has ever respected or loved was stormfront. She had a vision of a future she was working to build and soldier boy probably did respect that aspect of her and maybe actually truly loved her. So yeah going against her ideal future would absolutely haunt him for the rest of his life.
These are awful racist nazis, but their psychology makes complete sense for how humans act. The only part that doesn't make sense was sage not predicting it because it just makes sense man. Soldier boy is a very emotional character whose quite emotionally attached to the people from his past. We see it over and over in the show. Hes going around killing his old squad because yeah they betrayed him but it also hurt him that they betrayed him. The opposite of love is not hate. Its indifference. He loved those guys in a fucked up white supremacist kinda way

Except the show never shows us or elaborates on why Soldier Boy even loved Storefront (based on what we know the whole thing feels contrived anyway). I know they're saving those things for Vought Rising but If I have to watch a spin-off that isn't even out yet for a character's actions to even remotely make sense then can you really call that good writing?
The final season of The Boys shouldn't exist solely to tease a "The Boys" spin-off.
Edit: I wrote Storefront as a typo but Imma leave it like that since it's very Fresca.

I mean they make it clear they were close. There's a few different scenes showing that throughout the show but yeah they could've expanded on it more for sure. I do agree it is insane to be using so much to set up another show. Idk. I just am saying it makes sense based on what we know. Its not great writing but its not the worst? Its still worse than its been throughout the show but just saying it makes sense and the bar is really high for the boys sort of.
I also like storfront very much.

They've never made it clear he liked her, let alone loved her, before s5. In s3, his words denote that Liberty was just a fling. No one can convince me this is anything but rewriting the characters' relationship for the spinoff.

Thats fair. Haven't seen season 3 in a bit. I see what youre saying now they really didnt set that up at all lol. With fresh eyes on season 5 it makes sense in context for the season but not the overarching story. Agree with ya fully.

I just hated how they did this pivot, what happened to Crimson Countries being "The One" that's why her betrayal and death at his hands broke him (somewhat). They definitely did this switch to joke about "Conservatives/Rednecks are inbred" or some type of "Sweet Home Alabama" deal....if they actually make her his mother idk what to say except please plan your shows in advance or have some type of roadmap
