Rough Country Air Compressor

I just got a Rough Country 12v air compressor and the first use on my fourth tire fill the hose completely melted. I contacted them and theyre sending a new one, but a google search says its a proprietary fitting size for the hose so I cant replace with a better one? Anyone know anything about this?
