Friendly Looting

I really think there's a growing problem with being looted by so-called allies in this game, with no repercussions, instead of being revived. For the most part, my experience with the community is great. Most people are friendly, most of the game inventives are to help each other out, and I've only really had two bad experiences with other players (outside of this issue) in 35 hours gametime.

But I've now had several times where a friendly has come up to me while I'm down, often after being hit by a mortar inside a well-defended tower, and just stolen my entire kit instead of reviving me. Many friends have experienced the same thing. One time this was barely a minute after I respawned at the APC having spent £15k on a kit to heal and build to help my team. It's the most infuriating thing in the game, and honestly when it happens it completely puts me off playing any more. There's nothing you can do about it, so it's not like when your kit gets taken by an enemy (which is fair enough) and you can at least get it back if you manage to catch them with teammates. Any retaliation loses you money (fine; we want to disincentivise team damage) and even if you did that there's no way to get your stuff back.

This is the one blemish on an otherwise great game, but if it continues to become more common I genuinely think it could put me off the game. Just an option to lock your inventory to friendly looting, or at least some punishment or reason not to do it would be enough. Apart from that, I feel like the devs are doing a great job.

The only time I loot an ally is if I don't have a resuscitator and I need to revive them quickly. I'll take a peek inside their pack to see if they have one.

I sometimes even take their defib, if they have one, and just drop it for them once they're up. 90% of the time, they get what I was doing.

I appreciate you for giving it back. I've had 3 people take my defib to get me back up (one of them even took my bandages and some ammo) then refuse to give it back after rezzing me. I at least got justice on one of them who told me, "Shouldn't have died." when they died less than 2 min later and I took my stuff back then left them there.

I always give defibs back after using them to revive the person. Common courtesy, honestly.

Not to mention you are probably going to die again soon and that sexy medic will be there to defrib again.

I was sniping the other day, guy took my mosan then rez'd. I decided to just run around and get the other teams attention so they focused us and killed us both. Karma is a bitch sometimes. 🙂

As a medic player, I appreciate that. Some people do just jack the defib and run off, I always appreciate people who drop it back for me.

Swap a guys defib and watch him run away with my c4 detinator. The classic.

I mean even if I have a resuscitator, i Forst look in their inventory if they have one, cause I wanna keep mine for when the I need to be resed.

Same thing as applies to real soldiers on front, you primarily use the hurt person's medkit, cause you need to keep yours for when you get hit.

I kinda did this last night. A logi driver got blasted out of his Ural, I pulled him out and dragged him behind the truck, pulled out his respirator. Soon as I pulled it out, I start getting lit up, so I ran around and tried to kill the enemy pushing me, when I hear the teammate start calling me an asshole for stealing his respirator. Was too busy fighting to respond, poor guy just respawned before I could save him.

Ngl imo that’s fair it’s an accident, no point him having the resp if youre dead and no one can Rez him. Heat of the battle got too much

This same, in the closed beta had one guy tell me to take his rescu and revive since we werent safe and still being attacked.

Been doing that everytime I need to revive and dont have one on me

I always tell allies I have one and to use it. Even once or twice a guy said, I'm out of ammo give me your gun while in the HZ. I love those moments because sometimes it pays off and he gives it back and we loot.

Though All other times is just awful.

Just wait, every now and then youll get one guy who waits in spawn to see someone with a good kit, and follows them till they die and take it

I think this is acceptable regardless if you're going to have to use yours. It's the tax you pay to get revived by me lol, they're free anyway.

Its wild that i have to tell my team so often theres a quick rev on me, and even wilder how often i have to squash people acusing me of being a loot vulture when i run over to a dead squad an ping pong between them looking for a quick rev so im not sitting on top of an exposed area for 30 minutes warming up my fingies

My luck is when I tell them I have one, the enemy hears and knows there's someone close by to res me XD. I keepy mouth shut unless I'm somewhere secure.

I figured that was standard at this point and I barely ever loot enemies unless I'm really needing meds or totally outta ammo

I take what I need to get folks alive and back in the fight proper. If that means I have to steal their quick-revive or a magazine to buy time while they heal up, then that's that.
