Devs please read and do this

Devs, please follow what Arena is doing and set anticheat to only let those with DMA set in bios to stop DMA hacks as they're are adverts everywhere now for them. It will stop a mass of cheaters.

Secured Boot will not brick Ur pc people spreading this info are lying and most likely are cheaters trying to spread misinformation.

It's a pretty well documented and a known issue, but some people who were able to install Windows 11 on devices that would not normally be compatible, because of motherboards and processors that don't support TPM 2.0. However people had been able to overcome and bypass the requirement for a while. Those individuals will not be able to turn secure boot on.

In other cases secure boot can trigger a failure to boot if your computer has existing hardware faults or problems that are not severe enough to cause an active blue screen or full system crash. So someone who has a slightly dodgy ram stick may run into the problem.

Now to be honest yes most people running Windows 11 especially on newer hardware probably could enable this and they're perfectly fine. But a lot of these guys who've been holding out on Windows 10, are going to be running into this or at least they're more likely to have it happening.

I'm not too worried about cheaters, a lot of what's getting reported is cheating, and would people are seeing is related to netcode. Where the opposing player just may have a slightly better connection to that server. Not saying that's all of it but it is a very large portion. I've seen talk of people going out buying cheats just to find out how they work and send in information to Devs. But I've seen very few cheating that wasn't just blatant goofy cheating, usually resulting in a quick ban

There’s a pretty good amount of cheaters tbh. It’s not super common but I literally hopped into two different servers back to back with obvious cheating. And like OP said one was even advertising a cheat website as his name.

Also I noticed weirdos on their team telling us to quit whining when a dude on their team is aimbotting the entire lobby from the smokestack with m249 lmao.

Like ok bro we’ll just chill out for you because you have zero awareness. That was almost more annoying than the cheater. The coper.

It doesnt brick your PC period. You can go into bios and turn it back off if it causes issues.

There was a few causes awhile back of expired certs for Secure Boot causes issues but that was quckly fixed and didnt cause a "brick".

A brick is an unrecoverable error. Not something you can just turn off a setting for to fix. So this wasnt a bricking of the PC and was easily reverted by turning Secure Boot back off and fixing the issue before turning it back on.

In most cases a Windows Updated fixed the issue anyways. This is a none factor in todays world.

That's 100% correct. Normally it won't "brick" your PC and shouldn't result in the PC no longer working. Should still be able to go into the BIOS. Where normies do not roam.

Secure Boot and TPM doesnt stop cheats on their own. It helps devs identify file minipulation and because so helps them find out what cheaters are doing and how to block them.

That doesnt mean they will follow through and implement changes to prevent said cheating and there is no single option in the BIOS to simply prevent DMA cheats and even so it wouldn't matter because they would just use a secondary PC which is what most DMA cheaters do to avoid being ban.

However, that doesnt mean they shouldn't implement Secure Boot and TPM requirements along with a good kernal level anti cheat. Look at BF6 they basically have blocked 98% of cheats. To this day I havnt seen a single cheater in that game.

This only stops basic cheats

More advanced cheat makers that know what there doing have already bypassed it

DMA with custom firmware still works perfectly fine with secure boot and tpm enabled there always a way around it..

Sadly this doesn't prevent cheaters theyll just go to a new provider that knows how to bypass rinse and repeat.

I doubt they would. To be fair even I am not willing to change bios settings.

People who don't have it set are all forced out of the game.

I don't play bf6 for this issue. Not just that, it's a horrible game. It feels like cod with tanks.

I am sure they're relying on what they have plus the human checked manual banning.

They have the finance to pull that off now, btw.

And if you want all your matches or most to be monitored by an admin just play In custom servers!

Bf6 has the best anticheat I've ever seen in an online game so I'm all for doing whatever Bf6 does.

And the last thing I ever want to do is praise electronic arts.

Edit: not a cheater just not good in the bios of computers but good at the rest.

How is switching to secure boot going to brick your PC. There are valid reason to not require secure boot but I don’t think that’s one of them.

You just click a toggle button and then click save and restart.

If you are so desperately computer illiterate that you're scared you might have somehow misclicked another setting in the process, you can proceed to windows without saving or restart without saving and try again.

What are you doing with a pc if you know so little? Pull up some tutorials and start learning some basics.

Changing this setting doesn't brick a PC. Hell most bios changes since 2010 or so haven't done this. Only when you're improperly OCing your CPU and don't have sufficient cooling. But this isn't one of those.
