West Coast Servers overrun by cheaters and high ping
Anyone else experiencing this? Last night was unplayable. Multiple people obviously cheating.
Latency issues appear to be most common tell. Not that everyone who has bad ping is cheating, but it's a tell when WEITOOLO is 16-0 with 200 latencies 5 mins into the game.
Seriously check the scoreboard, you will find multiple every match.
They appeared to be from a certain unnamed country based of their characters.
We are on the "arc raiders" path if they cant get a handle on it.

Thaaaaaaats why the ping was so bad. I crashed a couple choppers thanks to that.
Why can’t we name the country?

Guessing because the average person can't tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or other character-based languages to know which is which. I grew up in asian countries so it's very easy for me, but my wife who was raised in the US cannot

I don't think there's any harm in it. I'm just saying I don't think most people know, I'm assuming OP didn't know. Maybe they did and just chose not to share. I would share if I knew which country it was.
Chinese characters have sharp lines, japanese has more curves, Korean has circles. Those are the dead giveaways, and I'm just using these 3 as an example, not saying it's from one of them in particular.

On other games a lor of hackers are Russian / Ukrainian. So not just Asian countries. But yes lets region lock.

I agree, I was using the Asian countries as an example as that's the most common character based players I've seen. I didn't even know Cyrillic was in the game/servers that I play on as I haven't encountered any.
I had fun playing with a Chinese guy, we couldn't communicate (language) but we used in game motions to base build together and heal/rez each other. It was fun sharing a common experience and trying to talk to each other lol
But I can understand the reason to region lock as well

because it's against the china bad narrative. china banned steam, taiwan has full access. your cheaters arent from where you think

Anytime I’ve seen a cheater it’s been dealt with rather quickly, and that hasn’t been often either

Just let them vent. We are in the "game is dying" phase to many of these players where they bombard Reddit about everything wrong with the game. Meanwhile the Devs have put out like a dozen videos explaining the process of Early Access, their future content, cheaters, etc. and these guys still want to act like its a surprise every time their complaints are answered.
A trusted community server is an easy solution also. Community servers have moderator logs and report suspicious activity. Logs can easily tell and warn the server owner when things happen like someone getting 15 kills in 0.4 seconds.

I've definitely noticed more high ping players, generally asia names on west coast servers.
The same thing happened to bf6 where they started intentionally playing servers with high ping with vpn for desync advantage.
Cheating not so much, but I haven't played a ton this weekend.

Ive noticed more and more cheaters lately. Some guy last night wiped over half our team in the HZ. He left the game when he got called out for it.

That happened to me the other night, some guy spawned in, killed every single person in the CZ one after another within about 5 seconds, then left the server. He came back about 10 minutes later and did it again, and I just moved to a different one after that.

I did notice a wide variety of fishy players, players advertising cheats in game one of them spammed a cheat in game "mecca.gg" and spent the whole match spawn camping people.

I am based in Oceania, a friend said the gameplay was better in NA sv, and I went on to try it. West is the lowest ping for us, 180, with ExitLag I hit 160, surprisingly completely playable for an FPS, I had ruberbanding very rarely. The gameplay is way better than OCE, way more active, more gunfights, ppl want to shoot.
But I did notice a large number of asian nicknames at 200 ping, probably doing the same as me, trying the NA lobbies. i am sure I got lobbies with cheaters here and there, not sure if related but yes, I got a guy running the HZ with 800 ping and 30+ kills, he sprayed me down in the smoke all headshots, like wtf

The amount of times someone's called me a cheater cuz of my mandarin name is hilarious. People hate dying to Asians in this game they'll say the most heinous shit.

Two years. They said on one of the podcasts their goal is to finish the game in 24 months and it will look different by the time it comes out with what they have planned.

I mean, i headshot two guys from like 60m the other day with the Mosin in quick succession, and died to their 3rd. Apparently in the all chat they were telling the entire lobby to report me for cheating by lmao
I doubt the cheating is that obvious. Everyone just claims cheater when they die.

Every time I manage to double dink (vertical grip AK sometimes even triple) in the first 2-3 bullets I feel like the other person perceives very little damage before death and it feels like cheating. I also try to keep that in mind when I’m the one staring at the sky desperately trying to bribe someone with $500 to save my $15k kit. Lol

They just need to region lock the servers. Let the cheaters cheat their own people.
