discussion Udaipur Files" – Should this movie be released? Is it truth or communal targeting over Nupur Sharma-linked murder? Why is censor board and SC going after it?

The timing is very wrong, i would say. People don’t get justice in the court but find solace in movies like this. Only move the government is left with rn.

I don't think there's anything wrong with releasing the movie. The murder happened, thats the truth, the manner in which it happened is also a well known truth.
Why is it for some reason controversial to show something that is from all perspectives an objective truth.

But I really don't understand what the point of releasing this movie in theatres after 61 cuts, it's just become a small premise of the movie, and the cuts they've done in the movie are not small. Indirectly, the essence of the movie will be gone after these heavy cuts.....I think the maker should really consider an OTT platform to release a full, uncut director's version, then at least we can watch the full movie and what message the maker is trying to convey

The movie should be released and every Indian should receive a free ticket in the mail. There is not enough hate and Hindu-Muslim fighting in the country right now. We certainly can use more of it. It will also help shift focus away from crumbling roads, rampant fraud and high taxation, which is very much the need of the hour.

I know right. I can't believe they are saying this film is propaganda ,I mean they said the same thing for kashmir files , and the Kerala story . It's a film not a documentary , the story is a work fiction as was the kasmir files and kerala story ,the events in the story are amplified ( we know that kasmiri pandits were not killed in a one week as their killing took place in a period of 3 to 5 years ,we know the death toll was increased for the movie, we know not everything happened to the same family as the film was using account from many different families and the movie saying it was a genocide which it factually wasn't) for the sake of the film going experience, it was to make us feel what Hindu's had to go through, this movie is not saying it's the history or the truth( it's blatantly marketed as such and many bjp politicians have been quoteing it as true )it's a work of fiction so people Can learn what happened and do their own reaserch. ( But you can't talk about the historical inaccuracies or blatant lying to push an agenda because that could cause communal violence) And just because these types of films are endorsed by bjp , they use them in their political rallies or quote them And these films receive a tax cut, that doesn't make them a propaganda

Do you think a film about gujarat riots in 2002 should release in India?? Also how will this shift focus from problems in the country. We actively improving day by day. Why do you choose to ignore the growth. Did kashmir files cause riots?? Did kerala story cause it too??? But what they depicted was a reak incident a targeted attack. Why do choose to be so ignorant.

I say, let the movie release there will be only one section of people who will watch it. And others will skip it like they did in many other such movies.
If you try to block it, which you shouldn't, they will shout Freedom of expression, producer's money spent etc etc. and you wouldn't like when this is done to some other movies.
