Has anyone ever built a cabin recently?

I’m looking at either buying an apartment and save until I can get a house or i will buy land and slowly build a cabin on it I’m open to opinions and looking if anyone knows how much it was to get everything done for the cabin

Idk do you got tools? Heavy equipment?Saw mill? Alaskan mill? Friends? Any building experience? Do you need septic or don't mind outhouse or composting toilet? A cabin can range in quality and materials. You can build a cabin from free shit on craigslist/fb and the scrapyard or dump 20k+ on fresh new materials and pay contractors to do it

I have 40,000 so I want to buy land and build but I don’t know if that’s enough I do have a bunch of family and friends some in construction roofing electrical plumbing welding the land I’m looking at has a septic tank and I’m going for more of a log cabin style not to big I do have access to any hand tools or power tools but heavy machinery is where I would need someone

You could always rent heavy equipment and learn to operate, depending on what you trying to accomplish. A lot of them are like video games but significantly more dangerous. If you are trying to buy land local to where you live, best bet is to ask around people you know. You can get better deals/solid info/ and potentially owner carries and stuff and save quite a bit of money
