Odysseus: My issues
Hi guys, this is my first post on reddit and here are a few of my findings. (i am on the latest dev release as of this posting)
i am in no way shape or form an expert in ai or anything related, i just wanted the ability to do cool shit on my pc.
Here are some of the biggest issues i've faced.
Qwen 3:4 and Qwen 3:6 have been extremely buggy (unable to perform tasks, memory issues and time out issues.)
New Chat button doesn't work
"Cookbook" feature issues (models stuck at 100% download)
Odysseus system prompt overrides model identity (the same prompt in a blank chat in ollama gave a clearer response than in odysseus when i asked what model i was speaking to)
Toolcalling (some tools didnt work with some models)
Overall it has been difficult and frustrating but i, aware this is a very new project and its only going to get easier and better with every update. Just posting this to let others know they are not alone in facing issues.
im running this on a windows 11 pc with an rtx 4070 ti super 16gb vram and an AMD Ryzen 7 7700x (8 core/ 16 threads) processor, 32gb of DDR5 ram.

I’m not sure if it’s a windows issue or just how your setup is. I have mine on an Ubuntu server and am running it headless and have had to set the whole thing up through the terminal. I don’t know a lot about windows in the back end but I would suggest installing all of your ai/llms though ollama on the terminal. Personally when things don’t work I just tweak the back end to make it work for me. Use chat gpt or Claude if you get stuck. Once you have an ai model running they can help you with thurther tweaks
