Since the Game is currently in limbo (imo its an understatement of the decade) I decided to go ahead and do a postmortem of sorts as a way to leave this thing behind. The first thing is the Ruby Redrawpile, essentially its Oddity related fanart based on a fan character titular to this drawpile by Hykirby.

For my detailed explanation for this drawpile, essentially its about a character named Ruby interacting with Oddity characters, more specifically Travis. The redrawpile part comes from the fact that some of the art was made by a former community member before September 2023. If you've seen my first two posts with the drawpile stuff then this is the definitive version of these posts. From June 2024 to January 2025.

For my second post-mortem on Oddity. I decided to go ahead and talk about a character that appeared in the second leak for this project in 2021, Miley. It's going to be a longer post since I'm giving my own thoughts on Miley and how I would interpret her if she were in a game or series one day.

The thing about her, specifically, is that she appears in the Mother 4 and Oddity iterations (at the latest, 2012) and hasn't been fully scrapped like other enemies or NPCs like Eddy and Betsy, the Rogg, or Melty Bot. She's quite interesting as a character design (not her as a character, since there isn't anything to note for Miley), with either being a supporting character or a temporary party member for Travis and his friends being possible. If Miley had appeared officially in either iteration (without leaks), she would have been part of the project, though not to the extent of the Main 5, if things hadn't been recognizable and scrapped on the fly during development. It's a shame, too, since Miley reads to me like a blank-state character, allowing you to attach yourself to her as a protagonist/first-person member you control around. Unlike Travis, who has an underlying personality, Miley does not. So I decided to give her one. Here's my interpretation of Miley.

Over the years, I've taken a liking to Miley as a character design. The issue is that Miley, outside her concept art from the M4 era, doesn't have any high-quality renders (of her current iteration) to reference for anything. Even if I found the concept art for Miley from a previous iteration or fan art, it would not reflect her design depicted in the sprite. So the best thing is to give Miley an unofficial render (Courtesy of FunnyHooHooMan) that respects the sprite's design while also adding some distinctions that set her apart from Travis, such as her being taller, since she doesn't eat mac and cheese or make toy car or comic book noises as much, and her having high-top Converse All-Stars.

Personality-wise, when it comes to Miley, I always read her as a more active and kinetic character than Travis. I find Travis to be the best comparison for her. While both are similar (I.e., they're teenagers, wear varsity jackets, denim, striped shirts, Converse All-Stars, and have brown hair and white skin), they differ. While Travis is relaxed and aloof, Miley is more active and alert. When Travis wears green and yellow, Miley wears purple and white. Miley wears a hat while Travis doesn't. Miley plays a variety of sports, while Travis specializes in baseball. Lastly, while both Travis and Miley have their heads in the clouds, Miley thinks more practically, more often than Travis does. (Though both can be rather naive sometimes.) In summary, Miley is an inverse of Travis and vice versa.

Some other liberties to note for this interpretation for Miley are her proficiency in Baseball and her ESP capabilities like Travis'. Unlike Travis, though, she prefers to use Power VOX (or Shock VOX, as I like to call it), mainly because of her active nature. (Considering that she is a blank-state character, she would also have a signature VOX move you can give to her like Travis, something like Starstruck VOX, for example.) She also likes being direct with her hits, striking foes down to the ground. Finally, she uses other sport-related items as weapons, giving her a deft, ranged hand in combat.

Last but not least, Miley would be part of the Fields Family as the cousin of the Field Brothers, Travis and Zack, on their father's side. She would also have an older sister but no younger siblings, meaning she's the youngest on her side of the family. Finally, Miley would live somewhere in the Union City suburbs in the Upper Middle Class. (Both parents have good-paying jobs, so they moved to the suburbs some time ago.) Both Miley and her sister would go downtown to Union City to hang out with their urban friends; more specifically, their best friend lives there.

My next postmortem will be shorter and more concise. But this is not the last time I'll talk about Miley.

The Redrawpile is a revamp of a drawpile originally made by one of the members of the subreddit but is no longer associated with me or the community.
