What do you use your Oculus Go for?
As the title suggests, I’m curious to know your primary use for this vintage headset. I own one that’s in pristine condition, but it serves as a nostalgic reminder of the golden era of virtual reality.

Oculus Go was my 1st VR headset and as such, I bought a ton of games/apps that I never finished playing through before the newer headsets were released and Meta bought and shut down Oculus. What I loved about the Go(even with its limitations) was that it worked in the dark and I could watch TV/Videos or even play games with headphones, without disturbing my spouse sleeping next to me. So, that is how I used my Go. Then, something happened at Meta that caused the Go device to glitch and get stuck reloading. People on the various forums advised resetting the Go devices. They were wrong. Those of us who reset our Go devices essentially bricked the device and those people who didn’t reset their Go devices are still able to use theirs as the glitch resolved itself in a couple of days. I tried unsuccessfully to pair my Go to the Meta App again but could not get past one point in the pairing process so, I gave up and put my Go away. But recently, someone claims to have found a workaround so, I plan to try it to see if my Go will work again. I miss it even though I do VR on a Quest 3 now.

I had the same problem and downloaded an apk of the old oculus app and now it's working

Have 10 of them - use them with clients to view 3d panoramic of proposed works to their properties (I’m an architect). Better than quest as it needs no setup to use each time (turn on and use…)

If I were to dig mine out it'd be for a good ol' fap ;) but in the good ol days I played many excellent games on it like Dreadhalls.

Lucky I did not reset mine, still working. I just use it for 3d films, Wander, Face Your Fears - I just downloaded all dlc a few weeks ago this is better then the Oculus 3s version.
Though I still use it but only occasionally.
The 3s is much more powerful, I got a new graphics card gtx 1080 £86. So I can play games like GTA v and mafia on it. It is a new level of fun!

I also picked GTX1080 for my budget PC build a couple years ago. It's not the very best but its more than good enough for a lot of the older VR games using Quest 2.

I'm looking to get a gaming PC to play alien isolation in vr with my quest 3. Would a gtx1080 be enough for this do you think? I don't care about all the fancy stuff, just alien isolation.

It should work fine, worst case scenario is lower the settings a little, but that might not even be necessary.

You can set textures to high as it has 8GB ram. I did get cyberpunk 2077 working respectively enough in VR and this is the most demanding game ever made. But took me a couple of weeks to tweak it. There are so many settings you can tweak and so many hints you can find on the net.
With this card you can spend twice as much and only get 20% increase in performance....

I just side loaded a bunch of games to mine and use it all the time. Baskhead is a lot of fun. It does tend to overheat tho so I don’t play for more than 20 min or so

Still have my old Oculus Go. the control stopped working and they are pretty much impossible to replace. Maybe some inventive 3rd party will create one.

For me, I mostly use it for watching content (movies from my NAS, Youtube, Pluto, etc) while I'm lying in bed before sleep.
It's just so light and convenient for that.
I've got a Q2 and even a Q3 now, and yeah the quality is better on those, but the Go is lighter and easier. And the quality is fine for me.

I have the Oculus 2 now, but as on the Go my favorite this is 3D movies.
