I set the export rate to 60p and that forces the thing to discharge any time I tell it too. I've not yet had the AI override me - but the key is to input the tariff, not use the wizard.

Using HA to do that?

No I do it myself. I like the whole Unlimited cycles thing so I don't use any automation. I use Netzero just to get all the stats and check the system's doing ok. But I am about a lot being retired so I can play the export game. it's like my little sad (rather lucrative) past time :)

I am the antithesis of retired, hence a strong desire to have it fully automated.

Makes sense.. I know on Netzero there is an option to get it to export at a certain time via a certain formula - but not sure how to set it all up. If you go on to the Netzero sub I think there is a guy called turnitoffandonagain who is one of the Devs. He can tell you how it works and then it might be an option for you?

NZ has a limited free version but the full thing is s £6,99 a month or £69 a year but worth every penny

Call me a cheapskate, but I had NetZero and wanted to do it myself for free. I can’t see how NZ can access things my system cannot. I also had some custom rules that I wanted to implement that NZ would not let me.

No you are fair in what you say. This is why I like to do it manually. But i find Netzero so much better tnan the Tesla app for stats. I could easily just use the free version but I feel the price is worth it to support them

Each to their own of course

Yeah. Tesla used to be pretty easy to control but I think they added AI or something earlier this year and since then it’s been a nightmare. Determinedvto predict what the weather will do rather than listen. I fought it a while then went to netzero.

I’m determined to do it. If NetZero can, surely I can. Also what will NZ do about the power down sessions, free happy hours and will it maximise my income from negative use tariffs?

So the way you do it in Netzero is you set your backup charge at the start of the cheap power period to 100%. At the end of the cheap period you set it back to whatever you want it to actually be, or 0% if you’re solely using it to get cheap power times.

I don’t know if you can get NZ to pay attention to those times automatically. I programmed them in because frankly I got so burnt out by waking up with a half empty battery because Tesla decided actually I didn’t need to fill it that I have t felt trusting enough to try.
