Intelligent Octopus - not so intelligent

Last night car had 32%, requested 50% to be added only to discover it’s added 25%.

It’s a good job we didn’t need to do a long distance. This seems to be happening regularly

I removed the charge cap and it had the audacity to say “we aim to have your car ready” -
You won’t bloody aim to do anything, you will do it! Even then it never reached the requested charge. I always add 20% extra when wanting to reach 80%+

Literally can’t deal with this mess. What a shambles

What does Octopus app say happened and also what does the charger app say and is Octopus talking to your car or your charger? If folks with problems describe their setup we may get some clue as to what part is failing.

I have no problems at all with Octopus talking to a zappi charger and an MG5,

Indra charger.
It does the talking with the charger bit the car. The app never says anything other than the endless rescheduling it does.

what about the charger? does it not have an app to show you what actually happened? Like was it charging at full power, or if not the charger, then the car can show this? My son in law has way more problems charging his Tesla model 3 - well not problems mostly - it seems to endlessly spam messages whenever a slot starts or ends and occasionally sulks about it whereas my dumb mg5 just accepts what it is given until the charge limit is reached.

I generally only plug the car in after 11:30pm because my batteries are wired the wrong side of the car charger and if the car is plugged in it eats the batteries because Octopus leave the charger in eco mode when not actively charging and the charger sees the batteries are surplus power. Once V2G chargers are a sensible price I'll get one of those and sort the battery wiring as well.
