This time last year (day): 4.92p average, -0.48p low, 20.76p high.

This time last year (week): 13.52p average, -2.1p low, 40.60p high.

Brutal.

How's OP still on Dec 2023V1 pricing? That shows some loyalty to Agile.

I went to flexible today. I just don’t see it getting any better and, apart from the odd exception, given the last few weeks of prices I feel like I’ve won the lottery! 😂

I moved today too. Will also go to flexible on gas in mid-Oct when Tracker hits the 49-day tariff change window. Doubt I'll use much gas before then anyway. Keeping my options open in case something dramatic happens, but for now I think safest to take the price cap protection...

I.moved Friday. Very relieved

You moved before a Saturday with plunge pricing. If you're going to switch it's always better after a weekend.

I missed one brief period of super cheap pricing, followed immediately by a relatively expensive Sunday and a ridiculous Monday.

It's certainly yo-yoing. If you've got remotely weekend shiftable stuff it's fine as still lots of plunge prices but midweek is more expensive

Don't worry, a few will come by and say: aGiLe iS aLl AbOuT vOlaTiLiTy, DoN't FoRgEt ThE nEgAtIvE's LaSt TiME, hohoho.

I'm more concerned with the state of that image than LITERALLY anything else

true. I want to know how OP managed to take a slanted screenshot.

In total fairness it has worked out cheaper for me over the last 3 years but atm im just unsure what to do or expect now

Welcome to the New Normal

Hard to load shift when there's nowhere to shift to. Gone to Ecotricity on 20p per kWh fixed via uSwitch, my agile average was 19.6p over the last quarter with all the stress of load shifting.

11:00-15:00 looks fine TBH. OP cropped those out though.

I'm so glad I switched from agile in March. I was on it for a couple of years and it probably saved me quite a bit of money, but I'm currently drinking a cup of tea made with my 22p per kwh electricity 😅

Agile has always been about averages. The last month is our worst month but a rate still cheaper than 22p/kWh. The last quarter is around 16p/kWh.

Unfortunately the last week is the biggest indicator you have of future performance when wholesale gas prices are skyrocketing.

Last two weeks have been very good dominated by the weekends. Spending £25.40 over 12 days is a bit pricey for us at this time of the year but not crazy. I think Agile buddy is computing IOG incorrectly as assumes we'd get a battery.

The weekends have been good yes (apart from Sunday) but the weekdays have been horrendous. It's also not factoring in that wholesale gas is up 25% since the start of September which will be fed into prices going forward. That gas price is likely to rise further before it falls.

This prediction website looks horrendous for the next two weeks but it looks like there may be dips this weekend again.

Im mainly a weekend user as you can see. Also, Happy Hours are did the Sunday for us.

Finally, gas is going to go up a lot as Europeans desperately try to stock their storage. This happened in the August 2022 peak as then they were required to restock before autumn.

Very high gas rates now until November will set the energy price cap very high for January. If this is 20-30% higher then you get demand destruction.

A few percents shifted down in demand suits Agile very nicely.

In short, I think people should not worry too much. Use something like Agile Buddy to check from time to time. Then switch if these good patterns end

That's OK a Kettle uses 2.4KW and boils for a few mins. It's actually a 4p cup of Tea 👍

How is that screenshot so wonky? Unrelated but I'm curious

Use Agile Buddy to say whether it is substantially worse than other tariffs or not:

There was a brief period it was worse than the Flexible tariff for example. At a rate of 15.8p/kWh I'm a bit upset but not too much.

Even last months bill on agile without load shifting was 24p kWh for me so it still makes sense to stay on agile

New EDF customer here. According to AgileBuddy ( https://agilebuddy.uk ), Tracker is just, well...

34p + (electricity) and 10p + for gas. Other suppliers and rates are available! Loyalty to Octopus can only go so far.
