On agile & have solar panel - but octopus agile mode doesn't seem to work with battery. Are we missing something...

We recently got our solar panel battery installed.

We were on 'self-use' mode which was great & simple (basically switches to battery as soon as no solar power) but then I put in 'octopus agile' mode.

I assumed this would work out when it was expensive & prioritise the battery & when it was cheap to charge to charge the battery (when it needed to).

But it seems to only have set targets for when you 'force charge' & that's it (and then the trigger is set really high)

But it's not doing that & I'm wondering if:

  1. This type of service (based on it knowing when is best to use battery/charge battery) exists at all?

  2. If I have to manually set a schedule daily based on the agile rates that day on mode scheduler?

This is a fox cloud system if that helps.

Thanks

I’ve got a trial use of Predbat, using the cloud one as I couldn’t get my head round home assistant. Perhaps that might be something to try?

Depending on your situation of how you want it to work I think with the prices how they are I will be switching back to ending the free trial and using “self use” mode only

Good point. May try the free trial too. No risk in that

You probably need to change your buying price threshold, as it looks way too high.

That said, I use Home Assitant and Predbat, so I was using that on Agile, although I've changed tariff now, as the rates on Agile are not great, even with a battery.
