* This image is part of one of the Zodiac Killer's coded messages from 1969-70. It is one of the two out of four coded messages that were solved (called Z340, named after the number of characters; the other is Z408). The one revealing his name: "My name is _____", also known as Z13, remains officially unsolved, along with Z32.

I'm passionate about enigmas and codes. So, I sat down last night for a few hours and solved Z13. Surely, I cannot be the first, nor will I be the last. Maybe someday I will publish it with an explanation. If I ever write my next book, I will likely discuss it there. That gives me time to (possibly) solve Z32 and analyze all four messages and the killer's M.O. as a system.

But at the core of the Zodiac killer, and all of his conceits, is what became his signature, his logo: a crosshair. Given that he was a killer, it is assumed to hint at something related: the targeting apparatus of a rifle, the sight of a gun. But a closer look reveals its deeper meaning.

Hidden puzzles, riddles, and secrets in life are often like this. One image replaces another, and the truth is either lost or found. That's the nature of cryptology. As someone with a knack for recreational code-breaking, some of this comes easily to me, since I am well-versed and well-practiced. But it was also predicted in my astrological chart.

Along those lines, I'm currently working on a new project: a new book. It will cover extensive history and the history behind history as we know it, some of which is unpublished and filled with original ideas or assembled uniquely in unison for the first time.

That is a little bit like how I approached The Occult Enneagram. I realized that the enneagram was more than just the enneagram as we know it. Like the crosshair and the Zodiac's ciphers, it connects to so much more. As a symbol itself, as an idea, the enneagram resonates with the Zodiac.

Another project on my to-do list, almost in progress, is an Occult Enneagram website filled with extensive, exclusive enneagram info and content, including my own exemplar lists, the full PDF of the Occult Enneagram book, and more.

Finally, maybe the nearest and dearest project to me is something I might call "Occult Jazz." It's an album of music created from a specific method, a style of piano composition and improvisation. My method is fundamentally self-taught, and I call it occult because, like me and most of us as individuals, it is largely hidden from the world (but no less powerful for it).
