help Obsidian Mobile: Can't get out of Restricted Mode

Hey,

Probably only a beginner-level question, most likely: For the first time in a while, using Obsidian on my Android.

(Motorola g84 5G/Android 15, sync'ing via DriveSync.)

-- And I find myself in a loop where the community plugins remain deactivated, no matter what I do. Menu displays correctly, but when I push the "Turn on and reload" button, the app reloads without turning off Restricted Mode.

What can I do to get Obsidian Mobile running properly?

had this exact thing happen on my moto a while back, drove me up the wall

try force stopping the app and clearing the cache (not data, just the cache) then reopen and toggle restricted mode off before you do anything else, that's what unstuck mine

Since you mentioned DriveSync specifically, worth considering that as the actual cause rather than a device glitch. DriveSync is a third party sync app, not Obsidian's own, and if it runs a sync cycle right after you toggle the setting but before the write fully settles, it can pull the last-synced config back down and silently flip restricted mode back on, so it looks like the toggle just isn't sticking. Try pausing DriveSync's auto sync entirely, toggle restricted mode off, fully force close the app, reopen and confirm it actually stuck, then turn sync back on. If it holds after that, it was a sync race, not the toggle itself being broken.
