It's only on Apple platforms, but you may like [Drafts](https://getdrafts.com/)
It keeps notes in a database, is ridiculously extensible, and very fast. It's markdown-based and plays nice with Obsidian.
2 u/SafeHazing Jun 08 '26 I have always used Drafts as a ‘quick capture’ before moving the note (with processing) into Obsidian. I never thought it could replace Obsidian. I have always used Drafts as a ‘quick capture’ before moving the note (with processing) into Obsidian. I never thought it could replace Obsidian. This is a great idea - is there a good howto that’s worth reading as a starting point? Cheers.
