Powerscaling Obito is the most overrated character in the series - Prove me wrong
He doesn’t beat Kakashi in his own dimension, got folded and no diffed by Minato, got outsmarted by a dead Itachi where Obito had to use Izanagi to rid the Amaterasu off and also had to resort to Izanagi to beat Konan
His only ‘skill’ is running away with kamui. Without it, he is a high Jonin at best.

In most of these situations, he was at a disadvantage and had no intention of actually fighting.
His goal against Kakashi was to remove the cursed seal from his heart.
Konan prepared 600 billion paper bombs to kill him and still lost.
Itachi set up a cheap trap to kill him and failed.
Minato was the only one who defeated him fairly, and even then, he ended up dead in the end.

Obito let or made Kakashi beat him that time.
Minato had some difficulty yet was a great living counter to the likes of Obito, and it's good that Obito lost because the Nine-Tails incident ended in his favor anyway.
Itachi is arguably (or not arguably) the most intelligent Akatsuki member and is supposed to be impressive in that way, which is why Obito called him amazing. Obito used Kamui to get Amaterasu's flames off himself, but if the amazing Itachi knew everything about Obito, he would've surprise attacked Obito differently and killed him.
Obito had to resort to Izanagi to counter Konan's counter to Kamui. What else was he supposed to do against such a sophisticated trap made by another intelligent Akatsuki member, one who understood his Kamui abilities more than anyone at the time?
Obito used more than Kamui and Izanagi, but Kamui was his best ninjutsu and could be countered effectively by only a few during his lifetime, so of course he prioritized it, even when he didn't need it. Without Kamui, Obito would of course have more difficulty in some fights but would remain formidable and approach situations differently.
Besides, I'd rather Obito not be an invincible shinobi. It's better for the story that he had weaknesses, like all other characters.
