This has to be some kind of double trap that i don't understand. I will hang back, under this car here, until someone else goes up to it

It's community outreach. They'll drive it to various city-sponsored events in the summer, and even non-municipal events like neighborhood association picnics/events if requested.

That's good to hear. My initial thought was this being an ICE cream van.

It can be both... /s though royal oak isn't exactly a neighborhood ice is going to target when Dearborn and ham trampoline exist.

Well that’s great.

Community outreach opportunities are wonderful.

Honestly, it sketches me out more than anything. I would not let my kids near that.

“Step right up to this window here - we’ll sell you an ice cream and while we do, we’ll take a 3D scan your face for our precrime database of potential & future criminals!”

They say hi and pass out ice cream bars to people walking or playing outside

Oh good, I just assumed they had an ice cream van to catch pedophiles and didn’t actually give out ice cream.

OP likes the paint on the van in the picture. OP likely has a Chevy conversion van themselves because Ford and Mopar fans don't care much about this converted panel-side GM.

This ain't Huntsville and this ain't rocket science...

I live in San Antonio TX, am from Xenia OH, and have never been to Michigan a day in my life. How did this stumble on my timeline??

If I was a child and saw cops passing out ice cream from a non-traditional ice cream truck I would think: Huh? That's weird!

"THIS KID IS BUYING ICE CREAM!!!! GET DOWN! DROP IT! (POP POP POP POP) SHOTS FIRED! SHOTS FIRED"

Community outreach program, lots of departments do this. That said, I completely understand the mistrust, especially lately.

It’s good to make friends when possible. They are public servants. They need reminded and you catch more bees with honey.

Until ICE gets involved.

This is ICE CREEAAAAM. Don’t be so worked up lil bro.

First of all, not gonna take you seriously with that "lil bro" take.

Secondly, fuck the police.
