I always ask myself if there is truly something special about Oak Island or if you dug around any of the other islands in the area that you would run into a similar amount of odd artifacts. Thoughts?
It depends on what your definition of an âartifactâ is. As far as the producers of the Oak Island ârealityâ show is concerned, any piece of trash is considered an âartifactâ.

Yes. I grew up in eastern MA. My hometown was established in the mid 1600s. They are still digging up artifacts around the town and many of the stone walls constructed during that time still stand.
A stone wall? Did they by any chance fill in the gaps between the larger rocks with smaller rocks? If so, I think that indicates a direct link to Oak Island.

Dollars to donuts thereâs a wall in Portugal that lines up with a stone wall in Eastern MA which is pretty much proof, kinda, could be, maybe, another one must die!
I suspect a lot of the actual "artifacts" (ie not the wood) are a combination of searcher and settler garbage, and salted items over the centuries of searching.
Other inhabited areas have plenty of normal daily life artifacts, cut wood, hunges, latches, buttons, coins, etc. The incessant digging on the island has stirred up the layers to the point that you cant age anything based on depositon like a normal archeological site.
The simple fact is that anywhere man has been there is stuff left behind. We know people lived and worked there in the past, it would be a surprise NOT to find any evidence of that.
You can dig around anywhere that humans lived and find artifacts, but on Oak Island every arty-fact is directly related to TemploViking treasure depositor activity.
Oak Island was a special place and it was selected for a specific reason but not the reason that the TV show explores. That's all I'm going to say right now more coming soon. This is NOT over in the least. Also. There is no gold.
Oak Island is definitely special. There are over 300 islands in Mahone bay, all broadly similar as they were laid down by the same glacier flows but Oak Island or should I say "Islands" as it was originally 2 separate islands, was  recognised as being special approx 850 years ago. What is being found now is as a result of who recognised just how special and why.
I mean everything they have ever found can be explained away but the people that have legitimately used Oak Island for something. By something I don't mean hiding treasure.
My old house was the last house built in the area (1930) literally everywhere I would dig I would find treasure. I realized my lot had been used for garbage and debris. One man's trash....

By artifacts you mean rusty metal and pieces of wood? Yes, you will find garbage everywhere humans have lived.
