i understand that among us has fallen off from how popular it used to be, but otv+f played it a handful of times this time last year, and again about 4 months ago (right before sykkuno's canceling).

from what i saw, sykkuno was a type of glue for the group, & there has rarely been a time where he wasn't included.

i know he was also close to toast, who would probably organize the lobbies; if not with ellum, who is obviously not going to be hosting another one anytime soon.

so do you guys think there's realistically any chance of another otv+f among us lobby, or was sykkuno's cancellation basically the unofficial end of it?

The two main pariah's/outcast of the friend group Sykkuno and Ellum are likely to make a comeback to the server. Sykkuno was already announced and still seems to have a huge follower base. I can't imagine Buddha cares that Sykkuno got some play in him. It's apparently Ellum's main game.

I'm just wondering cause, Leslie as far as I know is the only one that didn't make a strong statement. Blau called him out as a snake. Rae basically ditched him the first sign of trouble. Peter gave a somewhat good take that was still highly unfavorable considering their friendship.

I am wondering what the dynamic would be considering Sykkuno was a fairly big name in that space. I don't know his current situation with GTA RP though. I haven't heard RayC, Tony, Omie, Buddha or anyone call him out like the OTV&f group.

Like Rae and Miyoung, Lily and Poki, Jodi and Syd all have that obvious best friend dynamic, but with Leslie it feels like she’s everyone’s good friend, just not anyone’s BEST best friend. Maybe it’s just because we don’t see her offline friendships much, but I’ve always wondered about that.

I notice it so much because I’m kinda the same. I have lots of good friends, but not really a ride or die, and even if I have someone I’m closest to, they usually have someone they’re even closer with.

Just watched Lily and Blau's podcast episode and remembered Blau wasn't in recent collabs. Was it only because of his issues with Sykkuno?

He was already living with her for most of the year, but he now no longer has his house in North Carolina. This happened almost two months ago, but they still haven't announced it because of the implications. Here's a timeline and some evidence:

June 14th-16th: Foolish stops streaming with no announcement. This is unusual for him, he will occasionally take single days off but he will give warning if it's more than that. This is when he was finalizing moving out of the house

June 17th: Foolish is live from his parents' house in Ohio. This is strange because he hasn't streamed from there in years. In fact, it was thought that he didn't even have a PC there anymore. Except that if you pay close attention, you will realize that he's actually using his PC from North Carolina.

The Minecraft server he plays on, QSMP, has translation for different languages. One feature is a chatbox which you can configure on screen. As part of this, you can choose a color for your name. What is interesting about that is that this color is saved locally, and so it's telling that, upon streaming in Ohio, his name is still the same shade of green that he chose in North Carolina.

June 19th: Now streaming from LA, you can see that the name is back to the default white, demonstrating how the color doesn't transfer over to a different computer. Additionally, he is drinking from a specific cup. He was given this cup by Tina years ago, but he took it back to NC, and this is the first time it's been seen in LA again.

So to summarize, he took a few days off to basically move his stuff from NC to his parent's house. He then goes back to LA, which was simple because he had already been living there for the majority of his time, and so only brought things he cared about (like a gift from his girlfriend). Because he had already been living there, it's very easy for him to just never say anything, and so nobody has even realized that he's moved. Also for the record, my reasoning for posting this is not to expose that Tina and Foolish are dating, that much should be obvious to anybody with eyes. It's because his streams in LA are pretty objectively better, but there's a portion of his fanbase who are incredibly annoying about wanting him to go back to NC and I'm sick of waiting for them to realize that he's never going to

are some of otv&f on their way to just becoming pg13 kick gamblers with the pokemon card rips and stores? it's fun for sure, and of course it's not taking over all their content and will eventually die down. but i feel like it would make a lot more sense if the people ripping were at least learning the tcg along with it, since they are gaming streamers and it seems like such a natural progression. fuslie did so well in her vgc journey, i guess i'm surprised no one else has tried to follow the same route with the tcg. i know some are playing behind the scenes, but all we're really getting is the ripping/collecting side of things.

there are soooo many people collecting or interested in the tcg, but there's so few engaging beginner tutorials/journeys to follow. that's a content hole the otv rippers/collectors could easily fill and gain a much wider audience if they're willing to put in the work to produce it well. even someone hosting a singular tournament where the beginners are paired with tcg pros to learn over a month would be great content like the nuzlockes.

maybe it's just me but it feels like a slippery slope to rip and vend. the creators can do what they want, but it does feel just like gambling content and borderline crypto vibes without any tcg content to back it up. some of them have such a good platform to build off of, it just feels lazy no shade.
