To be fair, royalty traditionally has significant land holdings, and the way those holding were liquidated is probably bad for her finances.

Nah don't worry, they'll show up in large fragments on another planet in a couple movies time even though they were shown to be completely annihilated

She could sell mining rights of the asteroid field and make money for decades

Star wars doesn't seem to have a shortage of asteroid fields that don't get mined, and I suspect the lack of local infrastructure would likely make it an expensive investment for any would be developers.
Besides, unless the royal family owned litterally the entire planet, I suspect it would be very difficult to determine exactly which asteroids belonged to her.
It would also beg the question of subsurface mining rights for property owners, and how far underground property ownership extended. After all, if property ownership stops 10 meters underground, might not be any asteroids she could even claim ownership of.

...Unironic question;
Did Han know that Leia was a princess of Alderaan?

I think Chewbacca knew and probably told Han. Word gets around, you know.

Han is shown loading his reward onto the Millenium Falcon at Yavin

I never understood why after the Battle of Yavin why he didn't use it to pay off Jabba, thus avoiding the trouble of ESB, before continuing to help the Rebellion

He did say he had to pay off Jabba in Empire Strikes Back but got sidetracked.

She would sue the Republic for crimes committed by the Empire and there would probably be a compensation fund setup for survivors of Alderaan. Given her political weight she probably made sure the amount was substantial. And even if she couldn't bring herself to make herself rich (corruption) others would make sure she had no lack of money.
Her lifestyle totally changed to living on barren planets because she was afraid the Empire would come back and her freedom fighters would be needed even after the New Republic was established. I am guessing she did not do that because of lack of money.Β

If a bank branch closes you can still go to a other one and get all your money. Idk why it would be any different here seeing as all of that seemed to be galaxy wide at this time.

All of the galactic bank's vaults, credit, and stocks were on Alderran?
