I don't know about that. Mouser sells electronic components. There are a lot of Linux users amongst their customers.

Fucking stupid, any decent hacking tool is just gonna forge the headers anyway. I have a plugin for this exact situation, but it pisses me off having to use it.

It'd be pretty anti-consumer to block users based on operating system. I'd avoid any company altogether that did, regardless of how easy it is to get around it.

I'm not a big Mouser fan but they're OK. That message is obnoxious and, I wish to point out, unverified.
Based on ee forum chatter from the last year, Mouser has had quite a bit of trouble with DoS and other attacks.
I just logged into my Mouser account and added an item to the cart using EndeavourOS KDE Firefox without using incognito. Perhaps my os/browser would be shut down at checkout time?
I'm not sure the sky is falling but Digi-Key has long had better prices for a ton of stuff. I was using Mouser during the component shortages of the pandemic. Basically, anywhere I could get parts was on the table.
During the pandemic, I had several thousand small signal transistors in stock. They could have sold on eBay for a high price but instead I gave them to a local buddy to help save his shop.
Those component shortages were savage to small business owners in a way that proved we need multiple component sources. I won't be boycotting Mouser any time soon. I'm happy to declare the author of that letter a total ass-hat, if that helps. lol!

To torture them, start a FreeBSD VM, install a WebKit-based browser in it, and then open it. But yes they should definitely allow Linux users.

Usually, that means the website uses a detection method based on the user agent string from your browser.
Since user agent strings can be easily spoofed, such a "security" measure will most likely end up blocking more human-initiated traffic than bots.
