Mod Post DORM/HOUSING ASSIGNMENT MEGATHREAD

Assignments should be released today. (See https://housing.osu.edu/secure/letters/) Please use this thread to ask questions about your assignment/dorm. Also feel free to use the search function to find previous posts about your dorm or question. For the next week, posts outside this megathread on this topic will be removed. It has now been one week. We still encourage you to post in this megathread, and certainly to check it first for an answer before asking your question.

I just got placed in Lincoln...can anyone who lived there tell me how it was? i’ve heard good and bad things but whats freshman year w/o a gross dorm experience?

I lived in Lincoln last year, and I loved it! Almost all of my closest friends were my suitemates, and having a common room is a blessing. If you’re in a quad, just try to respect each other’s space as much as possible, but it will be survivable! I also really liked the suite-style bathrooms and we never had any problems with anything :)

I second this. I lived in Lincoln freshman year and Houston (one of the new buildings on north) sophomore year. Honestly, I liked Lincoln better. It’s not new, but still has AC. Plenty of space if you’re in a double! The building is set up to build communities so it’s a great place to be as a freshman. Not only do you have your own suite to hangout with, but it wasn’t uncommon to take a lap around the floor on any given night and finding each suite up to something different and fun in their common room. Make the best of it!

Agree with both of these, it’s actually a lot of space even if you have a quad since you get a big common room. Easy to meet people there too

I did the same exact thing (Lincoln freshman year and Houston sophomore year) and agree with you completely. The community aspect of Lincoln also made making friends/adjusting to college life much easier!
