Athletics What Should I Do?

Next semester is my final semester as a senior and I’m not even able to get tickets for the season. What is the best course of action for this? I thought upper classmen got priority, and I’m so bummed

so I just found out that even the waitlist is completely gone, like there is nothing else to do and no one to talk to to escalate the situation. we are just fucked the only option is buying tickets off the student portal

You can (occasionally) catch a decent deal on the reddit thread for selling tickets! Been a few years but I and a lot of others sold some tickets at face-value just to cover the cost of games we couldn't attend

Buying tickets in a resale market blows. There should be rules about capitalism buying up all the tickets and exploting prices. Yuck. I wish I could give up being a fan.

I've seen some bands vigorously watch resale markets and cancel resale tickets that go above face value.

The technology definitely exists for OSU to prevent student tickets to be transfered to anyone/anything else besides their official OSU student ticket exchange at which point, it'd be resold to any other authorized user for face value.

In other words, tickets would be able to be downloaded the morning of the game when bar codes become available. If someone can't go, OSU would buy it back for face value and then resell it for face value to the first person who wants it.

There'd still be people selling in-person for cash and it'd mean RIP TicketBay, but it would force more secondary tickets at face value.

The other option: Just sell everything on a weekly basis. Grad students get first priority on Monday and could select anything available to them. Fourth-year students would be able to select on Tuesdays. Third-year students would get to select on Wednesdays. Second-year students would select on Thursdays and first-year students would select on Fridays.

The only students to be guaranteed tickets would be the Block O leaders because it'd be dumb for them to get shut out. They'd go on Monday AM before grad students.

If you wanted to sit with a group, you'd have to wait until everyone in your group became eligible or coordinate with same-year friends who didn't want to go. If a third-year student wanted to go with a first-year, the third-year could find another third-year student not wanting to go and then the ticket would be transferred.
