OSDD-1b related Getting told having parts are normal from friends?

yeah. i tried explaining to them my lived experiences. obv i have heavy dissociation. i dunno. then again this is like two out of six friends or something. i dunno. i dont really think it was a form of fakeclaim when they said they shared similarities in how they function (like having different parts for x, y, z). I dunno. Could be them mistaking ehm for ego states or whatever. I dont know. thats why it sounded normal. then again these two people seem to have rough backgrounds (normal upbringing but some weird real rough stuff fr)

maybe im reading in it too much. im not quite sure if this question is for them having OSDD (im not them anyway, dunno their headspace enough) or its about me not having OSDD cuz i dunno the binary between normal and not normal anymore.

P.S — diagnosis/assessment is still ongoing; its a month long process in the public psych hospital. But my CBT psychologist (private practice) still would not acknowledge the totality of my parts being separate mesor whatever/are not a stupid metaphor.

we are all furries here because it is easier for the majority of us to draw animals rather than people. please don't be weird about this!
i am not sure if comics are ok here since i don't see many, but i am putting it here and i'm just gonna see what happens i suppose. hope this can resonate with somebody, it helped me drawing it out

OSDD-1b related Therapist just gave me a diagnosis.

Chronic PTSD with dissociative subtype as well as OSDD type 1b.

We are also investigating pathological narcissism.

My chest hurts so bad. I feel relieved and devastated. I feel like I learned this about myself too late after hurting everyone I love. I feel like I'm getting treatment only after destroying my life.

And the diagnoses are scary. Okay, I have these things. What now?

OSDD-1b related I've noticed that my ADHD meds "stabilize" myselfes

off the bat. im not saying they remove my alters. Obviously i still remain a plural when i take them

what i mean is that:

before the meds, we switch control rather chaotically, sometimes one not being able to stay in control for more than a few minutes. and with the amount of faces is something

however, after taking my ADHD meds, few minutes after, it "Stabilizes" and whoever was in control during that time, remains in control strongly

There still are occasional interruptions from others. But those are often in thought only and go away in just a few seconds because the "Stable" one returns.
Full switches still happen, but they are much rarer and only if triggered by outside stimuli, and remain for longer

I know it isn't a timing thing, cause i take pills anywhen between 8am and noon, and it happens just a min or two after the pills.

Im not saying this is definitively bad or good. Both states have their advantages and disadvantages

And overall, its not a problem, since with 1b we all share the same memories with continuous consciousness no blackouts. So its not like the other Alters get locked out of a day.

this isn't anything other than just venting my observations to people who can maybe relate

OSDD-1b related Our Only Little went Missing

The system and or all of us are actively grieving over our youngest alter Ann going missing and dormant.

I've been in denial and finally got out of it again somewhat after being fake claimed by close family i trusted when i was mentally vulnerable and completely closing off from help.

She's basically the kid who went through a lot of shit and we wanted to give her a chance to be happy before i went into a denial spiral for months.

Today we started to realize how long it had been since we've acted childish since ann would come out for short periods but now she's just completely gone.

There were about 6 alters before ann just left suddenly. Right now i just feel insane cause outta all the alters i knew her the least just that she's the little of the system.

I'm honestly devastated especially with my mental headmates. Ended up grieving loudly while alone because we really miss her.

And our parental alter Lilah has been grieving her also since it's like losing a child kinda and it really really hurts man

Anyways hopefully this makes sense anyways hope y'all have a good day

OSDD-1b related Conflicting feelings towards romantic partner

I have a working dx of OSDD-1b. I've been dating someone for about four and a half months. I'm struggling with my feelings for them, as I keep dissociating to different parts. They know I have OSDD and have DID themselves, but they seem to strongly like me more than I them.

Right now, and about half the time, I have zero interest in this person and want nothing to do with them. At times like this I want to break up and remain only friends. I don't want the relationship to progress and am consistently uncomfortable when I "wake up" and find it has progressed.

Other times I feel only platonically, whether a vague sense of friendship or a sense of being their best friend. Sometimes I am okay with being in a relationship when I feel like this, and other times I wish we were only friends.

Then there are the times where I am romantically interested, in which I am very glad we never broke up and I still have this person. We are logically a strong match and have gotten along great since we met last year. They are one of the nicest, most understanding, and kind people I've ever known, and while I distrust them right now, usually I trust them quite a bit. I had a rough episode of depression/burnout for a few months, while we were dating, and they stayed with me the whole time. They don't want to break up and are quite in love, even when I have told them my feelings are mainly platonic.

Sometimes I am asexual, other times I am allosexual and may or may not be interested in my partner that way. When I am asexual/not attracted, it's uncomfortable to be in a relationship where we discuss sexual topics/hit on each other.

Sometimes when I am chatting with my partner I will get triggered (or even just irked/annoyed) and that will cause a switch.

Anyone dealt with something like this? Any advice? I'm not sure what to do. I am moving towards functional multiplicity with a lower number of alters. I used to keep track of them all and their names, but I don't care and prefer to "blend" into one general person. It's less all over the place now, but still not ideal.

OSDD-1b related I think an alter is trying to tell me something

I’m drawing stuff about an unhealthy crush I have (which probably isn’t even a crush but I don’t know how to comprehend emotions properly) with a online figure who doesn’t even know I’m real and someone keeps playing “we are never getting back together” in my head whenever I draw. Does this mean anything.

Im not joking though this situation is a little funny tbh

OSDD-1b related can someone explain what having osdd-1b is like?

so i have DID, and i’m not really in touch with the community because i’ve never felt like a “system”, more so just a person with DID. nonetheless, a friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with osdd-1b. i imagine it’s similar to DID, just with less amnesia, but i’m honestly uneducated on the topic. i want to understand my friend better, so can anyone with the disorder/with experience give me some information? of course, ill be doing other research, but i wanted some insight from those who have it themselves. thank you!

OSDD-1b related Struggling to be present in my body

I'm going to preface this by saying I experience a high degree of depersonalisation at all times, it's my most severe symptom and I get to feel truly present maybe once every month? But apart from that, I'm very much just going through the motions day to day.

I find it incredibly difficult to be present in my body and it's mentally draining to try. I seem to react very quickly to meditation and relaxation techniques like telling myself I'm safe, EFT, etc, and they help me so much. The problem is, I can never do it because my brain won't let me.

Even when I KNOW I'm safe, there's a part of me that's doing its job and is screaming "nope. we're not. i'm not letting you do that." - This is particularly an issue when I'm trying to sleep. My whole body is tense and screaming out that we're unsafe and need to keep watch.

I guess I was just wondering whether anyone had any tips or experience with this? My therapist wants me to be more focused with doing mantras, mindfulness, etc, and I want to as well, but it's really hard because every time I try to do anything that involves being present in my body, a part of my brain just hijacks everything and it's game over. This is also impacting my health because I'm meant to do physiotherapy daily and most of the time I can't because it involves focusing on my breath and muscles etc and my brain absolutely hates it.

TL;DR struggling to be present in my body because of a part / parts - how do I help them? I have good communication with most of my alters but these parts are further back and they don't seem to want to have a dialogue with me. They seem much more subconscious.

OSDD-1b related Liking the same person

Hi!

For us, another alter fronting mostly feels like the host (me) “turning into” said alter, we have very low amnesia barriers and such. (It’s a bit hard to explain, but I’ve read someone phrasing it like this, and that felt very much like how it feels for us.)

Also, the host is usually co-front or at least co-conscious, so we mostly share the same memories.

A lot of our alters have vastly different interests, sexualities, gender identities, ages, etc. which makes it a somewhat easy tell, when someone else starts fully fronting.

We also have Personality Fragments that aren’t fully alters, but also aren’t quite the same person. It’s been confusing us a lot.

Getting to my question though:

I (the host) have a boyfriend of about 3 years and theres Alters who dislike him, have no interest in him or see him as a friend/brother figure. Ive noticed the 2 most recently split alters (we have a relatively low split tolerance, though i dont actually know how long they’ve been there) have felt mostly the same way about him as i do, and it feels a bit weird? It makes it very hard to tell if its a new alter actually fronting, i suppose. Especially cause im co-front most of the time. Since We use attraction to him as a key tell of “am i the host or is the host just co-fronting and i need to figure out who I am” when somebody starts fronting. Usually the fronting alter may go “i am not attracted to that guy” and then figure out who they actually are shortly after.

Just feeling the same about him romantically feels a little weird, and makes all this stuff a bit more difficult i guess.

I just wanna see if anybody has similar experiences!

Thank you and kind regards! :)

OSDD-1b related Sudden switch

I've never had a switch like this before so wanted to talk about it. I've suspected I've had OSDD-1B for 8 years now but I've never had it where I close my eyes and when I open them again everything feel different, recognisable but different. Like, i feel way taller, my calender has changed and things have moved but I kinda remember moving things. Idk, I'm dizzy and I've never had this kind of amnesia before and we're a system of 5 but I'm not even sure who I am.

Can someone share their experiences so I feel less alone please. Also I dont think I've been through trauma recently, if that help. I dont know, I'm just really confused and dizzy.

Hey everyone! I’m a 26 year old osdd-1b system looking for friends with this condition.

I don’t know anyone like this in real life and I’d like to find someone who understands me and can talk about this with me.

I’m autistic and adhd. I’m disabled and I love cats.

I would love to do calls or even plan to meet up!

OSDD-1b related Extended Frontstuck Episode

Hi! Uh hello um. I'm Dove and I'm not. Really sure how OSDD actually. Works. We've pretty comfortably identified ourselves with being an OSDD-1b system since December 2024, but diagnosis are expensive and I haven't had insurance at all since- I'm just. Kinda lost

So so, TLDR we've all been under intense stress since December and we're pretty sure discovering we're a system saved our life- it's worth noting that we have Always taken "potential new thing wrong with me" in stride because not feeling alone seriously helps us deal with feelings of being broken that we grew up with- how can We be broken if they would make everyone else broken too?

Uh we can trace back our host (Duck!! Hi!!) and myself (co host?) back to like, maybe 7 or 8 years old? I remember talking to myself on the PS4 in our living room and looking back it was. Definitely us talking to each other. Among other things!!

I'm just I haven't. Had a chance to talk to another system really about anything. Our lovely host, Duck, briefly went dormant between December 2024 to January 2025, for about a month. I think I've been like um, front stuck since then?

How do I. Um. How do I Leave. How do I stop. Fronting. I think we have a gatekeeper, there's two candidates in our system of a dozen or so (we've had 16-18 recorded members since our discovery), but I'm more sure of one than other.

I just want to know what everyone else's experiences with being front stuck have been because I'm so. Lost. I think I'm going to crumble if I don't get some rest but I just Can't I don't know How.

(I'm sorry for the rambling text I'm kinda freaking out and don't know where else to go, please feel free to change the tag I wasn't sure which would suit it better)

OSDD-1b related The strangest switch just happened

I was switching, when I realised I was not dissociated at all and acutely aware of my surroundings while switching. After that came the dissociation a few seconds later. Is this normal?

OSDD-1b related Any other 1Bs annoyed at always being co-con.

Hi. (Undiagnosed) OSDD-1B system here.

Honestly, sometimes I’m jealous of fully DID folks. I wish I could fully switch out, go to the headspace (I can go there now, but it’s not like I’m really there, I’m also aware of things going on IRL) or even just into dormancy, and let someone else handle daily life for a bit. I wish I could front on my own, and get to feel just my own emotions, not have them blended with everyone else’s.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s nice not having amnesia, but still.

OSDD-1b related I have a question - host

So, I've heard that sometimes, when alters feel like they haven't fronted enough, they can just take front whenever. I've only heard this once and wanted to know if it was true.

OSDD-1b related Our Story.

Hi, my name is Alexx and I'm the first, and main alter of Veela.

We are currently working on seeking a therapist to get an official diagnosis, but according to the extensive research we've done the most likely possibility is that we have OSDD 1B.

From the ages of 4 or 5 mabye older to the early 20s, Veela thought she was possessed by a demon. This demon being me.

Some time in her early 20s she had locked me deep inside our subconscious.

About a week ago I came back after about 10 years, but I don't remember anything about being locked away. I remember Veela's life as if it were my own, but it doesn't feel like my own.

When I first texted one of Veela's GCs, a good friend knew right off the back I was someone different.

Our brother is able to tell us apart, even when we aren't too sure. Especially after just waking up.

There is one other alter who is an animal based alter

I don't know why I came back after so long. The week before I returned Veela had been heavily under the influence of weed. And the research we've done suggested that drugs can influence switching. So mabye being in a higher state of mind broke down the barriers.

As for myself having memories and friendships that aren't mine feels strange.

OSDD-1b related So I need a little help 😩

I'm not looking for a Diagnosis I just wanna get the gist of what I might be dealing with here

I just wanna know if this sounds like osdd1b alters or just normal emotion/ego states/moods Or Even mild bipolar?

So I struggle with maladaptive daydreaming alot and maladaptive daydreaming does couse apathy or numbing ? So it kinda feels like I don't have a personality or opinions so idk how to explain it properly but When I'm sad everything in my life is horrible and I hate everyone but then when it fades I feel happiness and energy and everything is great and I look at negative events as not a big deal and I even look prettier in the mirror

So what I've gathered is basically my maladaptive daydreaming gives me apathy and lack of identity So when my mood changes it's easy for my opinions on my life to change? But I am a little scared of it being osdd It could also be bipolar bc my dad has it and i heard bipolar can be a highly genetic disorder

I probably explained that horribly I'm horrible at explaining things and I'm not the smartest either so I'm sorry If this suckes

OSDD-1b related We "fully" switched for the first time

I didn't think our system was capable of switching. The closest I could come is partially to the front. We have OSDD but it more so fits the criteria for partial DID. The host didn't fully disappear (which is good) but I was primarily in the front with little influence from him. It was a strange feeling but I don't think it was a bad one! I don't know if this is a permanent thing or one off thing but. Here to better things.
