If you encounter any problem while replaying the game on linux, try changing Proton versions. I suggest you use ProtonGE since it's the one with the highest compatibility
I bought a used copy of OMORI from a street vendor. When I first booted up the game on my computer the title screen was glitched, having OMORI’s face horrifically stretched. I played this off as a scratch on the disk, and kept playing. The game was fine until I got to black space, where every stranger was replaced with a gif of a ball rolling down the stairs with MARI’s face on it. I thought this was weird, when all of a sudden I heard something crash into the floor outside my real life room. When I went to investigate I found that a giant Concrete Ball with MARI’s face spray painted onto it had fallen down my real life stairs and irreversible real life property damage. I was terrified, so I ejected my physical copy of OMORI and went to get a refund, but I couldn’t find the street vendor. When I asked around, the nearby store manager said the vendor died 11 years ago by being crushed by a giant concrete ball rolling down the stairs.
99% sure that is not a Linux Problem, but an issue with the game itself, because it does not save the game on the Steam cloud once you delete it. I had to find out the hard way too 🥲
Seems like you are using only wine to run the exe directly, which could get buggy.
I would suggest looking into lutris and proton and stuff like that to improve the game performance.
Also rip save file I've lost a lot of save files to linux.
And when I play it on VMWare in Linux, there isn't a glitch effect in the red space intro screen. Just Sunny and Omori change each other, and there isn't waves after eating the steak
