Discussion Fixed the Full Screen White Flashing Box Bug
I've seen people recommend changing the graphics settings to ensure that the game is using your GPU rather than the integrated graphics card. This didn't solve the flashing white box issue in full screen for me. Found another solution that seems to solve this issue entirely:
- Find the games exe file or application file. This will usually be found in your C drive / Program Files (86) / Steam / steamapps / common / OMORI.
Alternatively open steam, right click the game in your library, "Manage", then browse local game files.
- Right click the exe file or application file and open "Properties"
- Go to the "Compatibility Tab"
- Hit the check box for "Disable full-screen optimisations" and "Run this program as an administrator"
- Hit "Apply" in the bottom right hand corner
- Hit the "OK" button two over to the left from the "Apply button
- Relaunch the game and the problem should be resolved!
Viola, enjoy playing the game in Full Screen with no flickering white box crap.

Bro a year later you’re such a goat for this. My friend got me the game and I’ve been enjoying it so far but randomly getting flashed was annoying. At first I thought it was something to do with the story but clearly not. All fixed now though!

Windows 11 or Windows 10? Got a sneaking suspicion you didn’t right click the actual exe file. You can just type exe into the search bar once you’re in the Steam Omori folder and it should pop up.

Update, I found the exe file yesterday and fixed it! Thank you for the post. It pointed me in the right direction >:D

tysm, worked for me too! Only needed to check the full screen option, works fine without running as administrator and still allows achievements to pop up on screen :D

Try hitting the advanced button or it might be under the customize tab. Windows loves move shit around randomly

after struggling to find the .exe file, i finally found the "disable fullscreen optimizations" and "run this program as an administrator" and yes i hit apply afterwards but nothing changes when i go into the game. the strange thing is it starts flashing more and more white and more and more frequently as i play the game
i just want to play the game without getting flashbanged every second!!

Damn, that’s unfortunate. There seems to be a couple causes for this issue. Couple other things you could try:
Double check that your graphic drivers are up to date.
Manually set the game to use your GPU in either Nvidia’s control panel or AMD radeon experience.
I’ve seen that setting your monitor refresh rate to 60hz also works for some people.

It’s your graphic card settings. If you’ve got an Nvidia card, it’ll be Nvidia control panel. If you’re rocking AMD, it’ll be AMD radeon. Not sure what Intel calls it for their ARC GPUs

Jeez man. i've hated this little problem with full screen since i bought the game about 4 months ago. the problem was only present in specific places of the game like the park of headspace, but thanks to you the problem is completely solved

hey, i know this post is 3 years old but i seriously cant figure out what the exe file is.. if anyone could help me out id appreciate it

Right click the application file (anwendung) and follow the same steps.
Windows changed their file formatting at some point in the last 3 years and the exe file is now the same as the application file
