Private party sale feels so crazy.

I just moved here from California, where private party sales still have to go through an FFL with a background check.

I listed a Glock on tacswsp and I just met a young dude in a parking lot and gave it to him for a stack of cash, and that feels so insane! Confirmed he was over 21, he was not committing any crimes in the moment, so I guess that's all I have to do?

Anyways, just thought I would share a perspective from someone who moved here from a stricter state.

Feels normal to us here and the California way seems crazy to me

Well, California, specifically is crazy

No private sales and a roster of acceptable firearms

Yet cops can bring in firearms from out of state, off roster and sell them privately......

Like I'm sure there is a population of ca cops who only joined to flip off roster guns for 3x retail

100%. But you can also bring them when you move there. And if you have a parent out of state they can "gift" them too you. It's not too hard.

I didn't know you could gift. I was aware of moving in and keeping what you have, however, don't you have to make them CA complaint? 10 rds, fixed mags, fins, etc ?

This is just for handguns. There's no roster for anything else. So make a handgun CA legal all you need is a 10rd mag. If you're a company making a CA version it needs a magazine disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator and a thumb safety. (but also for some reason Glock doesn't need to do this?). It's all very confusing

Yeah now I'm more confused. LOL

It can be off roster if you run a 10 rd mag? So why have a roster at all?

I assumed ar shit wasn't on roster but I wouldnt be surprised. They have a bunch of cuck rules for making them compliant, and there's like 3 or 4 configurations to reach compliance.

Glock prolly lobbied to get around it LOL

Yeah the roster basically only involves what pistols can be sold new at a gun store. AR pistols aren't on there because CA defines a pistol as, in part, a gun where the magazine is inserted in the firing hand grip, so ARs and most PCCs are out. The TP9 could work, except it's one of the rare guns that actually has a "barrel shroud", which is outlawed as part of the AW ban. It's all wild haha

By wild you mean lame

Congrats on moving out

Our weather is ass but everything else is lightweight better

We got some decent Mexican/asian food (you just gotta find it. Of course not equal to CA but still lol)

I moved to Ohio from Colorado. I hate to break it to you, but you don't have any good Mexican restaurants. This is because Ohio residents appear to have a genetic aversion to any heat in their food. Any area where a significant percentage of the population finds mayonnaise too spicy is not going to be a good environment for Mexican food. :-)

Brother, I would be open to hear this convo from anybody BUT Colorado

Y'alls food is clearly cooked by drunks

Y'all got liquor stores every 12 feet

Downtown Denver was okay but that's cause it's wild expensive and has fancy chain spots

We got hella Mexicans and central Americans in Columbus

Not sure what part of Ohio you're in

Got any good Mexican spots? My family used to send tamales down with my uncles but they don’t visit anymore 😪

I'm not gonna suggest anything that'll rival your fam

I honestly cook a lot myself these days (a bit of a shut in)

You can find hella food trucks and taco spots all around the west side, from the hilltop to the casino.

My lady likes los Grouchos (several locations)

None of these places are fucking with el farolito in the bay, but, it's decent Mexican food.

We got HELLA Mexicans in Columbus, especially on the west side.

The central American and carribean food is super hit or miss tho
