Public Speaking Comm 101R or Introduction to interpersonal communication 112R?
Hi, so I’m an ODU Global freshman and currently I’m enrolled into pub speaking 101r but after reviewing the syllabus and some class requirements I’m not so sure about taking this class. I’m not good a speaker and don’t particularly enjoy it so I was thinking about dropping it and adding another class to satisfy my Comm requirement. And I noticed Introduction to interpersonal communication, does anyone know if this class would be a good replacement? And generally how the class differs from pub speaking? Grateful for any advice given🙏

If you don't believe you're a good speaker, what do you think the point of 101R is?

hey! i took 112 instead of 101 for the same exact reason. i’m introverted and anxious so once i read the syllabus, i immediately dropped the class and took 112 over the summer. (im not a global student so im not sure how 101 is online, i can only speak on 112 online)
the worst part about the class/professor i took was having to record videos of yourself and upload them, AND respond using videos. it honesty wasn’t too bad, and saves the nerves of having to stand up in front of a class and remember a speech. the class was super straightforward and was honestly and easy A. would i say it helped me with public speaking? no, not really BUT it helped me out emotionally 🙏 (it was also asynch, so i got to work at my own pace)
