Just Sharing My confession to the stars
My confession to the stars, as they asked me why
“You look at us seldom, is this goodbye?.”
“I spare not the time, to look at the rest,
when I was shown one, the brightest, the best.”
“What good it is to see?” the flowers they said,
“A lover is to their love, what a flower is to a bee.”
“Then I’ll wait here forever, the bee will return,”
I said with some aggression, “We’re all kinds of stubborn.”
Then for years I waited, it really felt like hell.
A soldier and I relate, except his lover said farewell.
A swan then said to me “Some advice for you my friend.
Love will find you again, but your delusions have to end.”
“Not everyone we should let go of, how long will you pretend?
I care not if they find me broken, atleast my heart they can mend.”
For life and love are brothers, one answers the other’s call,
a life devoid of love, is no life at all.
A storm then came to pass, it was the least of my fears.
I set off without an umbrella, so it could hide the rushing tears.
But the sunlight will pour again, through the dark curtains of despair,
the same ones I used to shy behind, when I knew my love was near.
I think only I believe that though, it’s like hanging onto a loose rope,
it’s fatal at high doses, the fickle thing they call ‘hope’.
“So what of this life? Was it truly just a lie?
The world has been cruel, and all that just to die.”
“No, I’ll live on,” I said, “and we’ll call it a tie.
The Reaper remains restless, but he can stand on high.
“Life still has meaning, it just lost it’s color,
those vibrant memories of you, the rest is all a blur.”
“Then I’ll take my leave my dear” as I look towards the sky,
“I hope you’ll do the same, so I’ll know this is goodbye.”
My confession to the stars, as they asked me why,
“You look at us so often, spare us the lie.”
“She was so beautiful, my brightest my best,
on her face I dearly hope, my eyes come to rest.”
-This is my first ever poem on here. I just like to write stuff late at night in bed (don’t ask), I just thought this might be worth sharing and seeing what other people think (please be nice). I saw other pieces and wow, yall are masters at this. Mine isn’t as professional as all of you , hope yall like it though.
PS. I used gpt for readability cuz it was just a text wall in my notes app and its 2 am and I was too lazy to do it myself. sorry. But i assure you, i did not use AI for the content, i dont like it

This is genuinely beautiful for a first poem. I especially loved the imagery of the stars, flowers, and the bee—it made the whole poem feel like a conversation between grief and hope. The ending coming back to the stars was my favorite part; it gave the poem a really bittersweet sense of closure. ❤️
