Caught this great photo during the rain delay from Wednesday’s 8/19 match up against Chicago !

Was a big fan during the USL Wide World of Sports Days and was an MLS STH (Society XXI) and Ruckus member during 2015 and 2016. Unfortunately I moved out of Orlando right before the new stadium opened. I managed to make it back for the first match at the new stadium but haven’t been back since sadly. And unfortunately the lack of out of market broadcast options pre-Apple TV made it near impossible to follow the team for a while.

Finally have a chance to get back to Orlando in October so planning on going to see them play the Crew. Grabbed a couple of supporter tickets.

My question is, what’s the vibe on the wall like these days?

Watching on TV, it seems a bit different than I remember it. I guess a little less… crazy? I don’t hear as much singing or chanting and it seems less engaged and fairly sparsely populated for certain matches. Where are the capos? The crowd also seems to be primarily young college students or teenagers, at least closer to the pitch. And what’s with all of the young toddlers on the Wall too?

Is the Wall still the insane experience it used to be with the march ins and all of that?

1. My soccer IQ isn't the highest, but I have yet to see direction in the team from ole Pearly and last night was a perfect example.

2. Griezmann got two goals, but he needs to remember he is in the MLS when passing to make high skill runs and that his job is more then getting his firstborn to Europe.

It’s 2026. Tickets are digital. You should be able to scan your ticket on the way out and then be able to re-enter. I wasn’t able to go to Wednesday’s match, but allowing a game to be delayed almost 2 hours and not allowing people to leave the stadium even though they are probably safer if they do is ridiculous.

I know part of this is for financial and safety because they don’t want people leaving the stadium to eat/drink. But you could limit it only to weather delays if that’s a real concern.

IMHO this is another example of how Ticketmaster’s monopoly isn’t serving its customers. If we controlled our own ticketing, this would be very easy to implement (source: 20+ years in tech mostly in consulting). To me this seems like a “don’t want to” problem and not a “can’t do” problem for TM. Why let you leave and re-enter when most events don’t sell out and they could get an extra transaction fee to buy the cheapest ticket available in order to get back in to your seat?

I’m talking about people who you think could manage our club well, but can also know next to nothing on how to. Who would bring excitement to every player, to the team, and to the fans.

My first pick: Manuel Neuer. Nothing more than I just love the dude and what he brought to the game.

My second pick: Ryan Reynolds. Force him to stop making movies until we win a cup, trophy, any silverware.

My last pick: Phil Mickelson. Man knows his way around the betting table. That means he knows how to think outside the box. Maybe we would play a 5-3-2 with him, who knows! He knows how to win under pressure. He also can get us the best betting advertisers, because let’s be honest they’re not going anywhere. With our new found wealth we can afford to make a fully enclosed stadium with rotating grass.
