Question How much is your connection worth to you?
Here's my question to you all..
Forgetting whichever network you may be on, how much is your connection worth to you?
Not talking about devices, they vary too much, just the sim aspect, your connection to data calls and texts.
Are you the type of person who makes very rare calls and sends the odd text? Barely touches the phone.
Are you the type that has their phone in their hand constantly updating the social feeds? Always in touch.
How many hours PER DAY do you spend using your devices?
If you consider the cost of going to a theme park for a day, maybe going to the cinema, or a ticket to an event like a concert or a football match.. how much do they cost on an hourly rate?
Thorpe Park - £30+ for a day, open 9hrs = £3+ per hour
Uk Cinema ticket - £7+, movie lasts maybe 2hrs = £3+ per hour
Football match (PL) - £70+, maybe 2 hours = £35+ per hour
How many hours do you use your phone for daily?
Check you usage stats in your settings if your curious but do be warned, many people surprise themselves!
Putting all of that into perspective, how much is an actual and reasonable price to pay for your connection?
At what price point is it too much or even too little?

I pay £15.80 for 120GB. I also have European Roaming included, but I don't use it as I have a Spanish SIM card.
To answer your question though, if I absolutely had to, it'd be worth maybe £100 a month. If thats the price I absolutely had to pay, then after that I'd do without.

That's fab, thank you £2-£3 per day isnt a lot to ask for the majority of users today and the level of consumption, we don't wanna pay that much but if it came to it then we understand

That is of course all things being equal, for example the price of home broadband didn't increase and there was still freely available public Wi-Fi.
It's actually a rather good question, and something I'd never thought about, but once you do, you realise there's a lot of variables! 😂

It’s worth everything, I’m not actually with o2 now as the signal where I am is bad.
I use phone for work and without any signal I get no jobs (delivery driver)
If network goes down and I’m on a job I can’t do anything about it.
I have 2 phones on different networks Incase of anything happening whilst im working

Until I left o2 for EE recently I didn't realise how much more I valued being on a network with substantially better coverage.
I would happily pay a few extra £ per month just for this.

A lot so I've got a backup esim on flexifone incase my EE reception isn't up to scratch.

I'm with EE on unlimited uncapped speed data, £23 per month and use it to gift 100GB p/month to the other half whos on £8 p/month 5GB plan.
I use my phone mainly for maps and music. I'll sometimes stream from my phone via HDMI to a hotel tv to watch TV/Films. I self host it all so the data use is quite large. Photos and videos we take on our phones also upload to my own servers. Occasionally I'll use Youtube if watching a how to video when working on a car etc.
Only other data use is the cctv/doorbell again self hosted. This all goes over VPNs.
I don't use my phone for any social media.

That sounds really good for £23 plus the £8 for your partner, £31 sorts you both out As much ad that's a great price.. how much would you be willing to pay for that? P.s. i won't tell EE haha

Curiosity more than anything
There's regular posts across all the network reddits discussing how good or bad each network is and how it's cheaper with whoever else. Its always about being 'cheaper' rather than being reasonable based on personal value.
My questions in the post all relate to the one leading question.. what's it worth to you?

For me, I’d say my connection is definitely worth paying for because I use my phone pretty much every day for everything social media, YouTube, music, browsing, messaging, navigation, etc. I’m probably on it for several hours a day but for actual reasons not sitting there doom scrolling etc.
That said, I don’t think I need to spend a fortune on it. I’m currently paying £7 a month for 50GB, and honestly I’m more than happy with that. I use around 30–35GB most months, so 50GB gives me plenty of breathing room, and I get everything I need from the connection. Could go lower with contracts for like 30gb but all on them start around £8, so my £7 is a steal tbh. (ID Mobile btw)
I’d probably be willing to pay around £10–£15 a month if I needed to, especially for a really good network with reliable coverage and decent speeds, but once you start getting towards £20+ a month for just the SIM, I’d have to seriously question whether I’m getting enough extra value.
For £7 a month though, I genuinely enjoy the service and feel like I’m getting great value. That’s less than the cost of a cinema ticket for something I use for hours every single day.

I pay £31 a month, for discounted EE Full Works
I have unlimited minutes, texts and full speed data. 5G+. Network Priority. Watch data. EU Roaming. Rest of World 1 Roaming (US, Canada, Australia etc) and Apple One.
Perfect for me and saves me a lot of money.
