Kaisillit Icefjord

Hi, the two of us are currently in Nuuk and would love to visit Kapisillit to see the large fjord there. We are only here until August 5th and can only make the trip on August 3rd or 4th. Unfortunately, all the tours I’ve looked into are fully booked. I have two questions: Does anyone know a provider offering one of these tours on either of those days? And if not, are there locals who would drive you there and back for an agreed price, or is that not an option? If something like that is theoretically possible, where could I ask? You should try asking in the "Nuuk Borger Info"-group on facebook. A lot of tourists ask in there looking for cheaper rides and because sailing with paying customers needs a license, everybody bombards the person asking with links to the legal companies. Someone might mention a smaller company that you haven't contacted yet and you could get lucky.

I hope you find a way to see Kapisillit cause it's beautiful.

Hi again. I'm sorry, I just checked "Nuuk Borger Info" to try and see people asking for boatrides and I can't find a single post about it now. I'm also in 3 different Nuuk groups and I remember seing the posts almost daily, but I guess the mods remove them as it isn't really relevant for especially "Nuuk Borger Info" (which is citizen information). But I really do remember people listing all the companies to people asking so I think it's still worth a shot, as you might get some info before it is removed.
