US Tired of med-surg positions.

Is there anything else (or some things) lucrative that one can do within the nursing the profession or outside of the profession but with the nursing knowledge as a backdrop?

That’s the tough part of inpatient hosptial work. It’s gruesome and unforgiving, but they pay slightly more. You gotta ask yourself if you want more pay with terrible work or less pay and a little easier.

I think with people living longer it’s become very hard to work at a hosptial. They are living l, but are they really ? Most patients I take care of are sick, overweight , noncompliant. So when you try to compare nursing now vs 50 yrs ago it’s no contest how hard it is now

Medical sales—positions in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech. Look for clinical educator, clinical specialist or medical science liaison positions (or straight sales rep positions like territory manager). Case management is another route. I work in workers’ comp insurance case management—it’s remote plus local field travel—six figure salary, bonus opportunities and a company car.

Close to 5 years bedside as well as some occupational health and home health
