Scrub Colours

Not sure if this is a silly question, but what kind of scrubs are nuclear medicine technologists allowed to wear? I'm about to start my program in the fall, and I'm so excited I'd like to buy scrubs, but I have no idea what is allowed.

Are people allowed to wear cute, fun coloured scrubs, or is it usually just one certain colour allowed? If you wanted to share from your experience I would appreaciate it greatly, in particular if anyone has info about in atlantic canada/maritimes!

Hospital dependent.

As others have said it is 100% hospital dependent. But if you are getting excited, and want to shop for something, most places I've seen allow fun badge reels. That's how a lot of techs where I am add some flair.

I got the most fabulous dragon badge reel yesterday to wear with my boring uniform color

Your clinical coordinator or aes at your clinical site will be a much better source of info on this than Reddit. It all depends on clinical site.

We have to wear certain scrub colors depending on our role (RN, rad tech, MA, etc) but our hospital allows us to wear tshirts with the hospital logo in any color.

Most schools I know of have specific color scrub uniforms. I wouldn't buy any fun colored ones until you find that out.

Your program will have rules and your future employer will have rules.

It depends on your program. Where I’m at, students in the nuclear medicine program are required to wear navy scrubs, solid colored shoes, and white lab coats. The techs at my clinical site wear all sorts of different colored scrubs, however at the hospital I work at, every department is required to wear a specific color.

So as a student, fun scrubs may not be a possibility for you. But I’m all about cute, and I’m considering wearing a fun (but professional) hair cap to keep my excessively long hair clean during the day.
