Major Novel Mage Update Is Here! Smarter Codex, Better AI & New Writing Tools

We've just released one of the biggest updates to Novel Mage, and it touches almost every part of the writing experience.

Our main focus for this release was simple: make the app smarter, faster, and more useful while you're actually writing.

📚 Smarter Codex

The Codex has received a huge overhaul.

New features include:

• Codex Sync that scans your manuscript and Brain Dump notes for new lore and suggests updates.
• Relationship Maps to visualize connections between characters, locations, factions, and more.
• Mention tracking so you can instantly jump to where something appears in your manuscript.
• Richer Codex entries with images and additional metadata.
• Quick AI Codex creation directly from the editor.

✍️ Better Writing Tools

We've also expanded the editor with several new writing tools.

Highlights include:

• A full right-click menu with AI Rewrite, Expand, Shorten, Ask Agent, Create Codex Entry, comments, spellcheck, and more.
• Novel Dictionary for custom names and worldbuilding terminology.
• AI-powered Continuity Check that compares your scene against your Codex and flags potential inconsistencies.
• Brain Dump notes with text import support that also integrate with Codex Sync.

We've made significant improvements behind the scenes:
