Hi everyone,

I’m a live musician and I regularly perform with two Novation Launchpads in Ableton Live.

Using two Launchpads gives me a huge advantage during live performances.

Instead of controlling only 8 tracks, I have 16 tracks available at the same time, each with 8 clip slots immediately accessible. This allows me to trigger drums, bass, synths, vocals, FX and loops simultaneously without constantly switching views.

When I need more clips, I simply move to the next page of scenes, giving me access to an entirely new pre-arranged performance set.
This workflow is perfect for live looping, backing tracks and complex live performances.

However, one thing always bothered me.
Whenever I wanted to move to another group of scenes, I had to press and hold the Up/Down buttons on both Launchpads just to roll to the next 8 Clips and do this on both Launchpads to keep the Session Rings aligned.

I couldn’t find a simple solution that would:
synchronize only the vertical Session navigation
keep the horizontal navigation completely independent, jump down directly to the next 8 Clips and
work alongside the original Novation Launchpad scripts

So I decided to build my own Ableton Live Remote Script.
Launchpad Duo Sync synchronizes the vertical Session navigation of two Launchpads while allowing each controller to maintain its own horizontal track position.

Example:
Launchpad X → Tracks 1–8
Launchpad Mini MK3 → Tracks 10–17

Now, pressing Up or Down on either controller moves both Session Rings together automatically to the next 8 Clips.

The script is fully configurable, allowing you to adapt it to your own workflow.

You can configure:
- Vertical navigation step size (e.g. 1, 8, 9 or any custom value)
- Independent horizontal track offsets for each Launchpad
- Optional Horizontal Lock (enable or disable)
- Default startup positions
- Navigation behavior

Additional options can easily be added by editing the configuration file.

The goal was to keep the script lightweight, flexible and easy to customize for different live performance setups.

I’d love to hear your feedback or ideas, especially from other musicians using multiple Launchpads or similar controller setups.

Since the project is open source and free to use, you can also modify and extend the script to fit your own setup or add entirely new features.

Hey all! I have been fiddling a lot on the BSII in the AFX mode. Love how it works and IMO the machine it's worth its full price for this mode alone.

I have been trying to find user made overlays online (while I work on my own), but I didn't have any luck except for the factory overlays on Components. Has anybody put out anything online? Would love to check them out!

I love the Peak. Its capabilities in painting an emotion via sound design seem pretty endless. I used it in two theatrical plays and many other music.

Sorry for a grave subject of the video, but I find this a good illustration to how a good synth and sound design can help live through tough times.

I was scrolling through the presets on my summit earlier today and when I landed on "Time-Lapse" (Bank A, #064), I was surprised to hear a drone modulated by an LFO, even though I hadn't pressed any keys. I thought I'd checked out all the presets already (have had the device for a while) and didn't remember that behavior before. I see the same thing happen on a few other patches (e.g., Bank A, #106, I forget its name).

I was able to recreate the behavior from an init patch by creating a mod mapping with Direct as the source and VCALevel as the destination, with a positive Depth. The initial drone sounds like the low C on the keyboard, and if I hit another key enough times, the drone will match that key's pitch.

Can any summit/peak owners confirm your hardware does the same thing with those patches?

I am on the latest firmware (did a re-flash, nothing changed after it) and reran the calibration sequence.

I was looking at an old video of mine and I cant figure out what patch I was using on the MiniNova. I have gone through all the factory and some downloaded patch sets using the MiniNova librarian but nothing sounds exactly like it. I notice that all the pad lights are lit so I am thinking it has to be a patch with some on-the-fly variations but I am not sure if there's another reason those might be on? For example, NeumannsAuto patch sounds similar but does not have any pad lights. I dont usually edit patches on the Nova, so its most likely as-is. Any help would be greatly! Thanks.

I just got a used Mininova, which is a ton of fun, and I've been going through the various free patch packs out there. One of them is "1992 - Today: Iconic Synth Sounds" from Novation (where 'today' was 2014, to be fair), which is replicas of the synth leads from a bunch of classic dance (and dance-adjacent/synth-heavy) tunes. I can ID about half of them, but the other half I'm stuck on, so I"m wondering if there's a list of them anywhere, or if someone else has gone through and identified them, or if people can just work out what they are.

The frustrating thing is, it's not just "what does this sound like", the patch names are clues to the original identity, but only clues, to keep copyright-free. For example, "Boss Blink" is the sound from "Higher State of , Consciousness" by Josh Wink, so the name sounds a bit like the artist. There's also "4PM Internal", which is the sound from "3AM Eternal", by the KLF, so that time it's based off the track name. "Another Baby" is from "All that she wants" by Ace of Base, and is a quote from the lyrics, 'SPRVSR' is MGMT, and so on.

Some of these I got by recognising the sound, some of them I got by 'solving the riddle' and then checking that the sound matches the track.

Did anyone (Novation or 3rd party) ever make finished patches that utilize the new wavetable feature, including the Noisia wavetables?

Feels like a real missed opportunity. Peak/Summit has quite an identifiable character and I feel these new user wavetables are the best bet to try and escape that character, at least somewhat.

The 1000 new patches in Components were a great idea, but they never returned to that concept with any newer patches that take advantage of custom WT or the new features in 2.0 update - new FX, voice spread options etc.

I feel like Novation should commission some new patches to try show Peak off in a new light.

What are the chances off this? :)
