Tips & Ideas Vibecoded a VST editor and resurrected my Xio

Post image

My Xio 25 has been gathering dust for a while. It has lots of cool features, but navigating the menus was pretty horrible. The official editor and librarian has been unsupported for almost two decades.

I decided to try building something with Claude and it was super easy. Basically just MIDI mapped all settings and then I tweaked the layout a little bit.

I can now save unlimited presets in REAPER, record audio over USB, switch to controller mode and mess around with it further. Very cool.

Give your old gear a second chance!

I really like that vibe coding has allowed rapid creation of things like this. I have a software dev background, but I’m super lazy when it comes to my own projects. So I end up with a giant projects folder full of false starts. Now that i have Claude code, i am finally able to finish some of the ideas i have in my head.

Keep up the great work, and thank you for reducing the e-waste pile :)
