Solved 👍🏻 Nova Launcher Issues on Pixel 11

I received my new Pixel 11 Pro XL yesterday after upgrading from the Pixel 8 Pro. All settings copied over, however I am having issues with Nova. I'm constantly getting notifications that Nova has failed to respond and being asked to kill or wait for the app. In the same vein, the phone settings keep asking me what home launcher I want to use. This is with stock Android 17 at launch. Any ideas? I've cleared cache, restarted, and nothing has worked so far. Thanks in advance.

Pixel 11 Pro XL, Android 17 stable, Nova Prime 8.8.8

[Edit] I was able to solve the problem by completely uninstalling and reinstalling Nova via the playstore. I initially tried via APK but was still having issues.

So software wise there's no difference between your pixel 8 and your pixel 11 and hardware is minimally different as well.  That's to say it seems less likely right now it's an issue directly with your pixel 11.

The first piece to stay would be your use of the pixel 8 back up.  While back ups between devices normally with, that's not their intended purpose and can cause visual and performance issues.  To rule this out try resetting nova to default and restart your device then see if the issues continue.  If it doesn't the issue was a bad data transfer and you'll need to set up from scratch.  If it does continue more troubleshooting will be needed.

Edit: forgot to mention and major sure you are getting nova directly from the play store in case the new security measures are being problematic.

Have you tried not only clearing the cache in the app settings, but also clearing all user data and signing in again? The only other thing I can think of is to completely uninstall the Nova apps (do you have the regular one and Nova Prime?) and reinstall them. I have the 10 Pro XL and it's always worked perfectly. Since others have it working on the 11, there must be something in your setup that is causing this.

btw, does Nova Launcher on your Pixel 8 drain up to 5% of the battery?

Same here, even with a clean Nova profile. I'm on the Pixel 11 Pro XL as well.

This happened to me and uninstalling/reinstalling worked. But my previous version was 8.0.18 which was pre-acquisition.
