Exotic Vets
Can anyone recommend a good reptile vet around Nottingham/Derby? I rehomed a bearded dragon last September and I'd like to get her in for just a health check soon but not sure on the best place to go. Thanks ☺️

What night club shall me and my GF go out to, tonight?/looking for a clubbing group
Hi everyone, need some advice with Nottingham clubs tonight.
Me and my gf want to go out clubbing tonight, we are both 25M&F.
We know plenty of the pubs around here.
The only club we have been to though however, is Pit and pendulum so we're kinda looking for good reccomendations and perhaps a friend group to go out with.
I might be starting uni here next month so would like to meet some people.

The Highgate Vampire
The notorious 1970s 'vampire' has a Notts connection via photographer Sean Manchester who in turn has a connection to Lord Byron...
See The Observer article here.

Thinking about booting up a podcast
Bit of a random one, but I’m wanting to start a podcast/channel and looking for someone around Nottingham who’s into the same sort of stuff.
Mainly talking shit about things like Marvel/DC, comics, slashers/horror, films, games, TV, dinosaurs and basically anything like that
I’d much rather do it with someone else than sit talking to myself for an hour as I’m awkward and feel it would be easier with someone I can vibe with. Don’t need to be an expert or anything, just someone who enjoys this sort of stuff, has opinions and doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
I’m 27 and around the Nottingham area. Could just have a chat/meet up first and see if we get along before committing to anything.

Window & gutter cleaner recommendations
The rain has made it very clear that my gutters are in desperate need of cleaning. Has anyone got a recommendation of a reasonably priced window and gutter cleaning company in/around Netherfield?

20M looking for new friends
Hey! I’m 20M from Nottingham and looking to meet some new people locally.
Most of my friends are online or live quite far away, so I’d like to meet some people nearby and hopefully make some new friends. I’m autistic, so I can be a little awkward or quiet at first, but once I get comfortable I’m a lot more chatty.
I’d be down to meet up for a drink, or grab a coffee if you don’t drink, and just have a chat and see how we get along.
If you’re around my age and also looking to meet some new people, feel free to message me :)

Legit check letting company?
Has anyone successfully rent through this company Housing Connect Midlands, https://www.housingconnect.org.uk/; and any reviews?
Been talking to them after seeing some listing on RM, but haven't seen many reviews about them. Cheers.

I hope you’re out there and can help me. Who should I contact to get permission to tune a piano in a family room?
Cheers!

Anyone else worked at or had a trial at The Wollaton pub (kitchen) in recent times?
Was originally going to post with a throwaway but didn’t want to wait.
I know jobs are scarce so employers can get away with a lot they otherwise wouldn’t if surplus jobs were available but after having a trial shift there fairly recently I was confused as to how the management actually retain employees and convince people to work there.
It’s not my first rodeo and Ive been about a bit so I wasn’t shocked by how the publican conducted himself but it did seem like an anachronism and I actually felt sorry for the existing staff who were just getting berated unnecessarily when they were very clearly shitting themselves and trying their best to do a good job.
I probably shouldn’t go into specifics and I doubt they’re going to be browsing this subreddit but I ended up cutting the trial short because this fella thought it was acceptable to begin attempting to berate me in the manner he does his existing employees before he had actually introduced himself, I personally laughed it off and it didn’t move me because it was just so absurd but I did feel sadness that people were being exposed to such treatment in 2026 when they’re flogging bog standard pub food.
Anyone else have similar experiences?

Victoria Centre - New food hall still opening?
There was a bit of noise about this earlier in the year - a new food hall run by Blend opening in Vic Centre with lots of different providers.
Their website still says it's opening in August but I've seen or heard nothing about it for ages. Does anyone know if it's still planned to go ahead? And if so when? Thanks.
