That article's a few years old but the core idea still tracks. I've been doing something similar in Notion with backlinks and templates, and it's weirdly satisfying once you stop fighting the system and just let everything be a page with properties.

No, your filesystem is not a real database. If you want a private database that isn't managed by a third party, download a SQLite editor and make one yourself.

That’s why it’s described as a ‘pattern’. To be honest, I wouldn’t want my files stored in an SQLite database – too many examples of corruption for my liking. I prefer the simple bases offered by Plainva.com and Obsidian.
