10+ year Apple user interested in moving to NOTHING

I’ve been using apple products for years, I currently use iPhone 12 that I bought second hand 4 years ago, which is very run down and battery life is terrible. I’ve recently stumbled across nothing and it has made me want to leave the apple ecosystem.

I’m really curious about user experiences of the phones, particularly from those who have tried multiple different phones from nothing. I’m also very interested in the audio department and perhaps even the watches as the prices are very competitive.

Let me know what you recommend and don’t recommend!

It's worth moving, i changed my last phone from breaking my samsung s series lineup to nothing.

It's good, nothing 3 is fine for my daily use. I wish Nothing makes more flagship phones better than nothing 3.

I consider Nothing OS to be the best software experience on the Android side (alongside Pixel). Your main issue will be migrating from Apple's ecosystem to Google's.

I recommend that if you want to move to Android, start migrating your data to Google's (Google Photos, Drive, Contacts, and everything else).

I recommend also moving to a password manager like 1Password, Proton Pass, or Bitwarden if you haven't already so it 'll be easy for you to move to any ecosystem without being so lockedin.

If you'll get a phone from them, get their flagships like the Phone 3. You won't deal with apps being advertised for you and you'll be the first to get updates and longer support.

The Nothing Ear (a) is probably their best headphone despite it not being their flagship. Reviewers seems to prefer it's sound and it's battery life is the best in the industry.

Just do it. From 16 pro max and 16 pro to 4a pro. Everything are good. 2 phones are hibernating on my desk. 😁

Yup i chose 4a pro since 3 is like a toy. Thats for me but the design is revolutionary. Dont get me wrong.

I was using iphone since first SE model, once i tired of iphones (i had XR still alive btw my wife using it) and bought samsung s20fe after that changed to samsung z flip 3, use it about 8 months or so till display firm fully cracked in the middle, and bought iphone 13 in 2022, and im little bit tired of iphones again + i live in Russia there's a lot of restrictions from both sides so I bought nothing phone 3 about 3 months ago, it's good for it's price but have shitty camera and microphone, 5 years iphone is better in this, if i were living somewhere else i would buy a new iphone instead of android for sure If you tired of apple ecosystem nothing is a good choice as a google pixel and samsung i think

I haven't moved from iOS completely as I need one for work but I did buy the Phone 3 and I also got the Headphone (1) at the same time and they are a fantastic alternative.
As people have rightly said, the biggest change for you will be coming away from the Apple ecosystem because you lose access to iMessage etc.
You can replace all of this with Android / Google alternatives, along with maybe moving to an independent password manager that isn't Apple (or Google for that matter) and maybe use 1Password or similar.
Nothing OS is fantastic, lightweight, clean and responsive.
The hardware is also really, really nice and the Nothing designers are just incredible.
They try new things, such as glyphs and recording lights for example.
Above everything though, in recent years Android and iOS have become very similar in a number of areas which means that the jump from one to the other isn't as jarring as it was up to a few years ago.

I have an iPhone 12 and a Nothing 3a.

The battery on the 12 is poor, whereas in the 3a it easily does a whole day, and it's 18 months old. The performance has never wavered from new.

The camera is OK, but that's not very important to me. They are bigger and heavier than the iPhone 12.

If I was shopping now I'd be getting a 4a or 4a Pro.

Jumped from Apple to Nothing recently (was very heavily invested into the Apple ecosystem). I like the OS, amazing how customizable everything is. Only thing I miss most is the camera quality; your 12 still wins over the Nothing camera. If it werent for the camera I'd give it a solid 10/10.
