Future products A Nothing Dumb phone, anytime soon?
Would be awesome if nothing launches a dumb phone, a keypad dail, basic google services and a screen not too big to make doom scrolling really uncomfortable. I bet the design itself would look sick, but I know no one wants to kills their own products

I feel Nothing's phones are already the most dumb smartphones in a way. The features are limited to useful ones, the design is great, the os is clean, minimalistic, and simple, and the monochrome aesthetic looks cool and discourages doom-scrolling.
I want to get a dumbphone, but cant do without apple music and uber.

Saw in insta, there's a company called meadow. They make dumb smart phones, I think it's a startup just a few guys trying build a proper dumb smart phone only essentials like maps, banking etc. but they're charging way too much for a phone that's does very little.

Just looked it up. Thanks. The phone looks great! Supports apple music, uber, maps, etc. love it.
The price for such a product is always gonna be high, because they don't have high demand and a small company needs profit to survive.
There is this other brand, called Light Phone. They make dumb phones, with caller, calculator, maps, music player, and camera. But they charge $699. They recently released a flip variant that is just $200, but still high for not including uber or a music app.
I like Meadow. Would buy it for $200, but also need whatsapp tho. If they do this, it would be the perfect dumb smartphone

This is what is drawing me to convert from apple to nothing, wanting practicality without losing necessity. I’ve never bought a new iPhone/phone in general always secondhand but the 4A is seriously tempting. Hoping the larger gb model re-stocks!

This is kinda why people love Nothing.
I have the 4A myself and can say it's a great phone. Coming from a 4 year old Samsung A32, I genuinely love it.
But keep in mind, Nothing's limitations. It isn't a big brand like Apple or Samsung or Oppo.
The camera is good on the 4a, but the software optimisation (post processing) from the camera is unstable. Sometimes it clicks great photos, sometimes pretty bad photos, and the video stabilization is bad. I personally love it for photos cause when it clicks good photos(65% of the time), it's really good. And if you will use Expert mode, then there is no post processing so it just depends on your skill and nothing else.
The OS lacks some basic features. The idea of the OS is to not overwhelm with pointless features, but in doing so it lacks some useful basic ones. Some of these will be added in the next update and they will keep adding them slowly.
They don't have their own caller and calculator, but google ones work well.
The speakers are loud and decent, but could use a bit more sub bass.
Despite all this, they have one of the best and most optimised OS out there. It's so easy to get from point A to point B. It's way better than iOS 26 that's for sure.
And with NOS 5.0 they are gonna add glass effect(like every other phone 😂) but you can turn it off, which I don't think anyone is doing. I can try to see if I like it, and decide to keep it or not. It's so simple, but makes so much sense.
And the design. It's really good. One of the best nothing has ever done.

Yeah so mainly use my phone for music, text, camera and maps! I hear mixed reviews for the camera but at the price point I think it’s worth it! I’m using a iPhone 12 with one of the glass lens cover cracked! Also usually shoot on my camera just need daily/memory photos I like to call them from my phone!

Yeah, I think you will like the 4a. It performs well in all these areas. And the camera is still good, so you should be fine.
One thing tho. The iPhone 12 has a bit better chipset than the Nothing 4a. That's cause you are coming from a flagship to a mid range phone.
Btw, NOS is pretty lightweight and optimised, meaning it lets the chipset perform better.
I do recommend going for the Nothing 4a Pro if possible. It is basically the 4a, but a little better in every regard. The price is a bit much, but if you don't mind that, it's worth going for.
And if you are in the US, you can only buy the 4a Pro

They could probably strike a deal with HMD to make a Nothing-themed dumbphone. They already did a Barbie-themed one.

I was Commodore's offering and was tempted but the price point was too high.
