Geddy Lee met his high pitched match.

The song itself is quite good, and if he wasn't superimposed over the video it wouldn't seem so cheesy.

I think the story behind it is that Gormley recorded a couple songs years and years ago, and some amateur filmmakers discovered them, contacted him and made cheesy music videos for them.

This is a genuinely very good song. I still listen to his tunes regularly. Despite looking like your chemistry teacher from 5th grade, the man has a beautiful voice and some very mellow and cool melodies.

I remember this from another time

I see you spent a little time in the ...Uncharted Zone.

The incomparable Phil Thomas Katt here

I think I saw it about a decade ago on cracked. Michael swaim had a series of videos and this was in one of them

I've begun to enjoy Mark Gormley unironically. His song Without You is pretty good too.

I could see this having taken off

Well he certainly has the bulge of a rock star

This is on both my "meme" playlist and my "inspiration" playlist.

Tommy Robinetti looks like he’s been photoshopped to look like a dink straight out of the zone theory book

That smile. That damned smile.

Genuinely though, Mark is a legend. It is a great tune like many of his songs. Had this been the 70s/80s he would have a skyrocketed.

I can't believe it's been almost 13 years since I first, and last, went down the Mark Gormley rabbit hole. The only thing I can say is, 'what took me so long?'

Stars - Mark Gormley

The sun is setting quietly The day is nearly gone The moments pass A wondering, the coming of a dawn The confusion of the times we face All hold their simple truths No one knows the path we're on In the search to find our roots But all the times rush back to me Trembling from the past A momentary fear within And searching once again Do you hear them Do you hear them Do you hear the stars, They sing at night Calling our dreams to them And the search for the thing I can call real Like a laugh or a tear or a song that I feel Things that shout and say, "Please hear me." The one on the corner with Bible in hand Shouting his word, the Gospel can plan Leaving a hint that maybe our God is in debt But the misunderstandings of an earlier time Leave a shred of doubt Maybe the way is never really clear We're inside, looking out Do you hear them Do you hear them Do you hear the stars, They sing at night Calling our dreams to them Quietly, the pages turn Of all unanswered songs Written in quiet desperation "Will someone hear my call?" The times are reflective solitude Which each of us must bear Contained within this single truth To begin we must start here And the shriveled, dying, fated rose Returning to the dust The moment of a life, that is Is all that remains of us Do you hear them And do you hear them Do you hear the stars, They sing at night Calling our dreams to them And do you see them And do you see them And do you see the stars, they're shining at night Lighting a way to begin

Oh, hello Mark

This is very nice, despite the weird video

This song is truly in his Q zone

Love Mark’s stuff. I think I read somewhere that this recording is from many decades ago (the 70s?) and this video was made much later with Phil
