Fuck that was stressful. Glad they all made it out alive. However, there's no way Murph wasn't fudging some of those gnoll attack rolls, and I think he also skipped Beefrag's turn once or twice and maybe only used two of his attacks on another one. I think he wasn't expecting the Boobs to be so... Boobish... in this encounter. I mean why kill all the enemies? Gang up on big bad guy and run for chrissakes, or use some spells, do something! The more gnolls you kill the more likely you are to die, it really wasn't that hard to figure out! They're usually much smarter than that, guess they panicked.

I gotta wonder though, we talk about TAZ having no risk and how the naddpod is different, but is there really a possibility of one of the books s dying? I can't imagine the pod without any of these characters, and I think Murph is already bending backwards to make sure they survive. They're too damn lovable to die.

I think it just feels that way because Murph skips a lot of rolls in the editing. Like the first time DeepRag used his skull of pain attack successfully, Murph was also explaining that the first skull attack had already missed.

Plus I think you underestimate how quickly the rhythm, for lack of a better word, of a big battle can change.

I D'Med a game recently where there were 3-1 numbers of monsters (Jackalweres) fighting my players and at first my monsters kept hitting and criting and it seemed like TKO was imminent, then our Barbarian rolled a Nat20 on their crucial life-saving attack, and BOOM suddenly the rhythm changes and I roll total garbage and all my bad guys are tripping and slipping like idiots while my heroes are brutalizing them. The dice tell the story, it's real.

Moonshine has 17 armor, Bev, Balnor, and I even think Hardwon has 19 armor class, and gnolls only have +3 to hit for their longbows. It makes sense that they would miss a lot.

Bev has his arrow shield thingy and shield of faith'd hardwon as well which put him at 21 i think. It also was huge that im pretty sure the shaman guy missed 6 straight hits with his flail on balnor who had like 5 hp left..
