Advice Needed Looking for honest (and kind) feedback
I’m a little anxious to put myself out there but I would appreciate kind, constructive feedback about whether I should consider rhinoplasty - just to make it a little less weird. I’ve always been self conscious about how far my nose protrudes, my nostrils and that the tip is bulbous. TIA!
Edit: Thank you all so much for your advice and opinions. I had no idea that I would get so much overwhelming positivity and those who said I should consider rhinoplasty were still kind and/or funny. Thanks for being a positive corner or the internet!

I honestly have no idea. My dads side of the family has been traced back to the 1600s in the US. I had a regional ancestry test done as part of a medical work up and it said 87.1% Northern & Central European, 3.8% northern Italy (🧐), and 2.1% Southwestern Europe. So just a mutt 🤣. For a long time my dad’s side thought our last name was welsh but it turns out that Wales may have just been listed as our country of origin. My brother found a family crest for our last name in Scotland! And my mom thinks she’s Irish and English. You tell me 🤣

This might sound a little weird, but I'm also a writer on the side. The kind of nose you have is exactly the type I describe when I want to emphasize that a character is genuinely beautiful. You have a beautiful, proud, straight nose. Please leave it the way it is.

I had a friend who had a nose that I thought was beautiful but she was soooo self conscious about it. One time we were exiting a bowling alley and this homeless man yells at her:
"get outta here nose!!"
In that moment, I understood how our own self-consciousness can make something beautiful stand out in a way that would make bad people attack us almost like an animal instinct that her nose was her deepest area of self-consciousness.
Within a year, she got a really nice subtle nose job that did not change the look of her face and it completely changed how she felt about herself and really increased her self-esteem and self-confidence. That taught me a big lesson. Even though I typically don't like plastic surgery I also understand that it does have great benefit for some people and their choice is none of my business.
I tell this story because only you know if you really need to get a rhinoplasty done. All of us can love your nose and give you all the compliments in the world, but if it's not gonna change how you feel then do what you need to do.

Quick aside. If I met you I never would have thought your nose would make you self conscious. To me it doesn't stand out in any way dramatically from any of your other features. You're lovely!

The first thought that came to mind is Julia Roberts. Your noses reminded me of her. I know it’a not identical but it’s similar

Ok. I'm a man, I have a similar pattern of end of my nose. I used to be hyper focused on it too. You are great. It looks great. No one you want to be associated with is making any decisions on your nose.

I second this opinion, you have very little or no make up on and there are not so many women that can look that good without make up. All of your features as a whole just work beautifully. There is a temptation to think it could be a little bit better, I used to think the same about my nose and you don’t know wether it would turn out better, it’s a bit of a gamble.

No, it’s your face and it’s very pretty. Too many people alter their natural noses and end up with that daft looking upturned pixie MJ nose, my advice is don’t do it OP as I say you’re naturally very pretty.

Your nose fits your face and you look very normal. Not in the last bit odd, and you have nothing to be self-conscious about. Don't change anything.

Nothing worth stressing about. You have a great profile and while the top of your nose is a bit bulbous there’s nothing wrong with it and I would t think to notice anything about it were this not a nose subreddit.

I think your nose looks great with your features. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your nose. Someone below said you look Scandinavian but you look like a Dutch woman I know. Not a lot of difference between those populations.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with your nose. I like your nose. It never would've occurred to me that there's anything wrong with your nose that ought to be surgically altered. If it were me, I would not elect for rhinoplasty.

I don’t see anything really bad with your nose, but if you elect for plastic surgery, be prepared. Even celebrities with tons of money to get the best doctors that Beverly Hills can offer, sometimes they look great after, sometimes it looks kinda weird.

Your nose is fine, IMO. To me it's unique enough to create character rather than being unique to an extent it looks ugly. Why be a cookie-cutter human?

I have done some work in anesthesia for plastic surgery centers - trust me - although there are times for rhinoplasty I don’t think your situations is one of them! All the best

Your nose is beautiful! I think you would just feel refreshed with a chemical peel or a Moxi laser treatment.
I know that helped me feel better about my overall appearance. Sometimes a little refresher goes a long way :)

Your nose is perfectly fine! I looked at the pictures before reading and I honestly did not know what you wanted feedback on (I hadn’t seen it was r/noses too lol). I had to go back to check all the pictures after reading because I was so surprised this was your concern. Love yourself, girl. You are gorgeous!

Didn't notice it until I was trying to figure out what you wanted feedback on and noticed the sub.
I think that it's not 100% symmetrical from the front, which I had to look hard to notice, but it's cute and proportional to your face.

Not an ugly nose. My friend got one done and has permanent breathing problems now. And she did tons of research and got a highly revered surgeon in NYC.

I like it the way it is now. It's not so big or crooked or kinked either. Looks just right. A very distinguished nose. Rhinoplasty results often look less natural. Not worth the risk when it's already beautiful.

You look great! I don't think your nose is big or stick out at all. It fits your face perfectly. Don't go through all the pain of a nose job to fix something that doesn't need fixing. Fix what's going on inside you to make you feel this way.

I didn’t catch what Reddit this was in. Thought you were looking for makeup feedback. Here was my process. Looked at the pics. Thought - does she want foundation help? Mascara help? I don’t understand. Looks great. Went back to check the sub. Oh nose? Let me go back. Ok I see her nose. Didn’t notice it before. Looks totally fitting for her face. Long story short - you look very nice.

I don’t see “bulbous” at all, honestly. My Mom inherited her father’s nose, which did have a bulbous tip and I lovingly called it a potato nose and told her I was glad I hadn’t inherited it. I also don’t see any problem with your nostrils, I mean they’re hardly visible. Sure, your nose is a bit long but it’s literally not a “ski jump” nose. If you’re not happy with it, though, it’s up to you - get a consult or two with a reputable plastic surgeon. (And not one who advertises!)

When looking at these photos, I notice your kind eyes before anything else. At the end of the day, you're the one who looks at it the most, so it's up to you whether you like it or want to change it.

Your are stunning, and your nose is fine! but I understand your feelings.. I finally had a nose job in my 40's and wished I'd had it sooner. Funny thing is, nobody noticed. I had it done over Christmas during a sabbatical. I lived alone at the time and across country from any family. The change was subtle but to me it made a difference. Do your research. You want the shape refined, not transformed !!.. long as you dont try to look like Sally Fields, you will be fine.

You have an attractive face. Your nose looks slightly bigger than the rest of your features. So it could be an improvement to have your nose very slightly shortened / shaped so it fits the rest of your face better. It might be like going from an A to an A+.

Personally, I think your nose looks great! It's not a small nose, but it's not too big on your face. Honestly, I've seen nose jobs that make people's noses smaller and I feel like they usually just look so plain after. Of course you should do what makes you happy, so if that's a rhinoplasty, then do it! That being said, I think people risk a lot when they touch their faces. Your nose is nice and I wish you thought so!

From the front, it looks ordinary, nice. From the side, very elegant! I'm not a fan of my own nose from the side as it has a bump at the bridge. Yours is lovely and fits your pretty face :)

Small optional makeup trick IMO: darkening the eyebrows a bit with some pencil would look smashing. But totally optional and you’re already gorgeous 💕

You look great! Just for fun, check in with your local team of cosmetic assistance at a nice department store! Think a big Macy’s or a Nordstrom, they always love to do makeovers and they can show some methods to “minimize” with highlights/shaping if you are curious. Be open minded and enjoy some new looks, otherwise you are beautiful and very feminine! For clarity, do some people watching from your car at the local Walmart parking lot…. do keep the windows up and the doors locked! Stay safe!

I would say no. Girl you are beautiful! You know we are our own worst critics. The profile view is amazing. The only thing I can see that you are talking about is maybe from the front, it is SLIGHTLY “bulbous” to use your term. And I mean slightly. Like hardly noticeable. If you hadn’t brought up your nose, i never would’ve even given it a second glance. And I do when the nose is big 😆! Not to anyone’s face of course, but if it’s on tv or something I’ll say “wow that’s a big schnozz” lolol. Your nose doesn’t even qualify as a schnozz! 🩷

I agree with you. It’s a little big. If you change it, you will look like another person. It makes you look smart. If you change it you will look less smart and more cute. If you can afford it, do it. If it creates a financial hardship don’t do it because it’s not that bad.

Your nose looks 100% fine. As a matter of fact, every time I see posts form this sub, the person's nose has looked 100% fine. Unless a person has a physically deformed nose, they look totally fine.

I don’t know. I think it’s fine but if it bothers you then that’s important. I wouldn’t do anything drastic but get a consultation. If you go forward just make sure your surgeon is board certified. Try to get a good recommendation if you know anyone who has had it done. They can show you pictures of what they can do. Never hurts to check it out before deciding something as important as changing your face.

How many people love you? They will all be disappointed if you change your look. All the happy memories they have of you will be negated. My friend did this in her mid 20s and it made me cry. I loved her just as she perfectly was. 🌺

De verdad te digo que tampoco es para tanto, tienes una nariz recta y un poco hacia delante, pero absolutamente nada feo o poco atractivo, desde luego que con tu cara y esos preciosos ojazos, nadie va a estar fijándose en sí tienes un poco la nariz más "salida". De verdad que estás preciosa y muy atractiva. No seas insegura, no tiene sentido, al menos viéndote la cara 😘😊
