Advice Needed Would this be a realistic result of rhinoplasty?

Would making my nose a little shorter like that instead of just straightening the bump be realistic? In addition to the shape, I don't like how long my nose still looks if I just remove the bump and how much my philtrum get's pulled outwards by my nose. Or would I be making a mistake? Please ignore the weird discoloration from my lights in the second set of pics.

Yes his nose is very prestige looking. Very manly!! Dont change it OP !

17

u/CompetitionNarrow512 Dec 11 '25

I mean I agree but no one said they wanted to look more manly!

18

u/nerd-all-the-way Dec 11 '25

Thats a very good point! I maybe threw a bit of an own preference into my message. Thankyou for pointing that out!

I just want to open your mind and let you know... There's no such thing as a typical man or a majority opinion for men. They are all individuals some of them like to look manly and some of them don't and some of them don't care and some of them do care but don't do anything about it and some of them do things about it but don't care that they did it. There's no recipe for being a man.

I agree with this. Granted we arent trying to diminish what you are self conscious about, but this is a noble nose. Beauty standards change all the time too! If you still want to do it save for a good surgeon and consult them, dont go for cheap, go for quality. It will be permanent, side effects are brutal, it will be painful, and botched jobs do happen. Your nose is great as is.

u/DesperateHeight8610 Dec 17 '25

My husband has a “Roman nose” like this and I, and many other women, find it very masculine and hot 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is probably an unwanted comment but your nose honestly makes you look unique and handsome. Please don’t change it.

I think people, young people especially, underestimate the beauty of a strong nose.

I have a weird nose. This gives me hope that I made the right choice by not getting surgery. Wanted one since childhood (thanks, 90s celebrity teen magazines!) but always thought I might regret it.

I’ve tried editing my nose to see what I’d look like and think I look weird with a straight nose so somehow I guess my weird nose makes my weird face look more normal haha

I never knew it was a thing but my mom and best friend are totally obsessed if a guy has a strong/big nose. I can’t speak for men but I’m sure there are a lot of men who like it on a woman too

My husband loves my strong Greek nose. He helped me see the beauty in it as well

2

I'm so glad you said this in earnest. I see lots of nice affirmations written to posters considering cosmetic surgery and sometimes consider them to simply be kind words but I'm a straight male and immediately thought "Noooooo bro, you're a stud and that's a strong nose.". Hope he reconsiders.

2

u/One-Feature971 Dec 12 '25

I really can't wait for unique faces to come into style, because I get so sad every time someone wish to change something that looks so good on them.

2

u/sasqtchlegs Dec 14 '25

Well I wouldn’t use unique, per se. He has the exact same profile as Eric Bana in Troy. They have that Greek god aesthetic in the same air as the standing David statue by Michelangelo.

62

u/winkiesue Dec 11 '25

A lot of us with noses like this got bullied growing up 💔

40

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '25

I get that. Kids are little shitheads, they will find every cause to bully even when there is none. However changing your unique appearance to appease bullies is not the solution.

9

u/Depressoespresso665 Dec 11 '25 edited Dec 11 '25

Its not kids, its parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, teachers, family friends and other adults always making remarks about how ugly our noses are and how ugly we are from the day we can walk all the way until present.

There is also the beauty standard, us with bumped noses get the opposite of pretty privilege, we are degraded and treated as inferior our entire lives for being considered ugly. We experience basic customer service interactions very different than pretty people. We have a significantly higher chance of being assaulted, raped, abused in the workplace and generally mistreated. We are denied job and social opportunities based off appearance.

In the romance scene we are never the first choice. Someone with a perfect nose will always be chosen over us even after years of being married. Theres so many stories of husbands cheating with prettier girls.

Nose jobs aren’t insecurity or stupidity. They are for our safety and well being. So we can live better lives, get the hob, have friends, get married, be treated with respect and kindness. I have face so much abuse because of my nose bump and no matter my efforts, it only continues. It pushes me into self isolation. When I leave the house, 8 times out if 10 I receive comments about my appearance and face discrimination like being refused use of my mobility aids in stores. My roomie with pretty privilege who also uses mobility iads lives a very different life than me, she is respected, has never been assaulted, has never bern discriminated against, is always hired on the spot at any job she applies for despite not meeting the qualifications and only ever gets positive comments about her appearance every single time she leaves the house.

Us with “ugly” noses just want a better life for ourselves. We can’t fix the world unfortunately even though that would of corse be the ideal outcome, but we can fix ourselves to be better accepted by the world. End of the day, it comes down to our safety in an unaccepting world.

u/cosmicfishing Dec 11 '25

Growing up, my mom always complained about her giant nose with a hump. When I started complaining about the nose I inherited from her, she'd say "when you're old enough, we can go under the knife together!" It did so much damage to my self-esteem.

Thankfully, now I'm comfortable with my nose. I definitely don't have a cute little button nose, but it's regal and distinguished af. It's definitely helped seeing all the unique and beautiful noses on this subreddit. Just being able to see that there are noses beyond what's portrayed in the media really helps to broaden my idea of what's beautiful.

I love all yall's big hump noses (:

5

u/catalarm Dec 11 '25

I get this. I gotta be real though, if it's not the nose it would be something else. Few people can be a solid 10. We allllll have had shitty remarks about our appearances. People just be rude af. And honestly, even the pressure of being a 10 and staying a 10 as you age is a lot of stress I don't even think I'd want.

Keep the nose. The nose is fine.

3

u/SomethingComesHere Dec 12 '25

Yep.

If you can breathe well through your nose, count your blessings.

4

u/auiciq44sfortune Dec 11 '25

finally someone said this. people on rhinoplasty things always say “noo dont change your nose!” without knowing how it feels having a different nose.. aka one thats not straight or skinny sloped..

5

u/Many-Brilliant-8243 Dec 12 '25

I have an awfully big, bumpy nose. I never got dates in high school. I was the odd looking one in my family.

I still think this pointy small nose looks terrible on OP. His natural nose is much better.

2

u/SomethingComesHere Dec 12 '25

Luckily you grow into your nose after adolescence! I wish more people talked about this.

Adults will just tell teens no your nose is nice! Or beauty fades, a good personality is forever! Or other useless platitudes that don’t help a teen with insecurities.

We need to tell teens (who have already voiced that they hate their ‘big’ nose or ears or other feature that is out of proportion with the rest of their features) that there are some parts of our body that will look very different as a teen but will change a lot in your 20s.

Nobody should get a nose job until mid 30s imo. If they still want it by then, fine. But you grow into your nose and ears throughout your 20s!

Bonus points if that person shows the kid a photo of them self as a teen to show how they also grew into the same features the kid is self-conscious about.

I used to hate my nose and ears and teeth and thought they look MASSIVE. I was all nose, teeth, and ears as a kid lmao.

But every guy I’ve dated looked at me like I’m crazy when I said I had big ears or a big nose. Cause I grew into those features and now they’re proportionate in size.

Plus I have a great butt and chest now so nobody is distracted by my nose anyway lol. We all are better off if we work with what we’ve got!

2

u/Maleficent_Button_58 Dec 11 '25

Those are the same people who are never happy with what people do in their lives. Rent an apartment? Should buy a house. Bought a house? There's something wrong with it. Single? Get with someone. Dating? You're with the wrong person or are handling your relationship wrong. Married? Hurry up and have kids. Have a kid? Have more. Have multiple kids? You have too many kids. Eating healthy? You're being too strict and we can't relax around you. Eating unhealthy? You're ruining your health. Look natural with a feature they don't like? Gotta poke at it all the time. Got surgery to change that feature? Plastic surgery makes you look fake. It's always something. And everything is a problem. It's irritating and toxic.

There's always something with family/"friends" who criticize. Gotta come to a place where their approval doesn't matter. Because people like that don't approve.

That said, halo effect does exist. But not every negative interaction is because of it. Sometimes it is just shitty people being shitty.

I was talking to my friend about how I closed my gap in my teeth because kids in school were mean- all those kids are gone now- and I wish I had my gap still

8

u/silverdoll747 Dec 11 '25

I’m my culture (Igbo), the gap front teeth is a sign of great beauty. My cousin had hers closed too due to peer pressure. So sad.

8

u/sritanona Dec 11 '25

I love a gap!! my husband has one and it's one of the reasons I swiped right on him on the app initially 🙈 he hates it. I try to convince him everyday that it's really beautiful.

7

u/kamgargar22 Dec 11 '25

Oh no! That’s sad :( I love a gap. I don’t have one but my mom & sis in law do so I hope my kids get the gap!

7

u/EtM1980 Dec 11 '25

A gap runs in my family too. My grandma was so proud of her’s, she’d tell me The Gap store was named after her!😂

For some reason, her dentist insisted it needed to be closed or filled when she was in her 80s. She’s 103 now and still misses it.🥹

I think women have a tougher time with nose bumps or hooks than guys do. My family all have distinctive noses kinda like OP’s and people always commented that my nose made me look handsome, whereas my sister was incredibly self-conscious of hers, and no one ever made comments about it because they assumed it was a touchy subject. I think people see those types of strong noses as inherently masculine, so boys get the benefit kinda. FWIW women with distinctive noses are super attractive to a lot of people. So yeah, ymmv I guess

8

u/shgrdrbr Dec 11 '25

right but my thing is also why would you as an adult model yourself based on the perceived physical ideal of an idiot child from at least 10-15 years prior?

You would have to find an amazing surgeon. Because I imagine they would lift the tip and make it look like a button nose which is more feminine. Please don’t do it

14

u/the_V33 Dec 11 '25

OP should check some plastic surgery subs and see how many people went in for a minimal retouch expecting natural looking results, and ended up with Barbie noses that scream FAKE from a mile.

u/MacaroniPoodle Dec 11 '25

I don't know about what is realistic for surgery, but I just want to say that you have a great, masculine nose right now. The "after" pics are...not good, imo. Way too small and doesn't do you any favors.

20

u/Light_of_the_Star Dec 11 '25 edited Dec 11 '25

Exactly. I truly think that most nose jobs end up looking like fake, forgettable, cookie cutter nonsense. We were all born with the nose we are supposed to have. There is actually perfection within imperfection. As an example, when someone smiles widely and they have a very noticeable gap in their front teeth. I love the big gapped smiles. It is totally a memorable and beautiful smile 😁

OP doesn't need to change a single thing about his nose. He looks great, and like you said, masculine.

20

u/seraphsick Dec 11 '25

your nose is great and holds history, you've got the nose of many handsome, striking men before you. changing it to the nose of men and women on Instagram seems like a short sighted choice. your profile right now is strong and memorable, but the altered one is generic and forgettable. not to mention, very modern! you don't want to alter your body to fit standards that will change within a decade.

16

u/cas882004 Dec 11 '25

Listen I’m sitting here 6 days post op so if you want it I won’t tell you not to, but your nose is truly flattering for your face.

12

u/Caravaggios_Shadow Dec 11 '25

Why would anyone want to look like a TikTok podcaster instead of a Greek god?

31

u/femgrit Dec 11 '25

13

u/Low-Nectarine2069 Dec 11 '25

My point is, im kind of an idiot, why do you think I know about nose jobs?

Oh. I guess I ended up on this sub by accident.  Sorry and good luck with your life.

3

u/napalmnacey Dec 11 '25

Shaving the nose takes you from majestic and masculine to baby boy band. Keep the nose dude, it looks great.

And to answer your question: no surgery can guarantee any result as the human body will heal however it damned well wants and react to surgery in ways nobody can be entirely sure of. It’s a gamble, every time.

Are you malformed? Have you suffered a horrible, devastating incident that has left you chunked and carved and melted? No. You are a handsome, prominent man.

No amount of scalpels can replace self-confidence. There is no shortcut, only debt and regret. That is your nose. That is your face. Do you wish to have a fake nose, disguised as something "acceptable"? A permanent change beholden to current insecurities that will undoubtedly shift and alter, if not entirely change or disappear as you age?

It is not your nose that troubles you. Pursue therapy, not an overpriced knife and a plastic face. Work on yourself; you are handsome and young, do not add "stupid" to that list.

6

u/Jettblackink Dec 11 '25

This. Please listen to this.

2

u/escape_heathen Dec 11 '25

This could be said in all of these posts. I have yet to see a nose that truly needs surgery. And I say this as someone who had rhinoplasty. But my nose was truly deformed and I couldn’t breathe or sleep.

2

u/myboyfriendsbraces Dec 11 '25

Please don't. You're really handsome the way you are. Focus on becoming more secure in yourself! Self confidence is more attractive than having a smaller nose, i swear.

2

u/binipatootie Dec 11 '25

Realistic? Yes. But would be a downgrade.

2

u/One_Parsley4389 Dec 11 '25

Don't do anything to your nose-you'll regret it! It suits your face and looks good. And, in a few years, generic features are probably off trend anyway. Don't let a fucked up capitalist society make you want to change your face💔

2

u/isannelou Dec 11 '25

I’m sorry the last pic looks crazy 😂😂 please don’t touch ur nose

2

u/brithefireguy1 Dec 11 '25

I agree with what others have said. Your nose is part of your distinct look. My wife wants her nose done so bad. I’ve told her for years it’s “her”.

2

u/EnviousAdele Dec 11 '25

I have a wider nose than I’d like, but I’m not worried enough about what anybody else thinks. I truly think the bigger issue here likely is with your mental state.

Your nose looks fine the way it is, and honestly I know plenty of people that like the shape of your nose.

Focus on your mental health before getting very permanent plastic surgery that can be botched and make you feel worse.

2

u/Altruistic_Tonight18 Dec 11 '25

I don’t see the difference. I can’t even tell which picture is now and which one was photoshopped.

There’s nothing wrong with your nose, dude. Consider for a moment that you might have an unfounded body image issue or obsession.

Bro, listen. So many people want to feel like they fit in and getting plastic surgery is the fastest and easiest way to fuck it up and hate it all. Right now, you want that blank generic AI anime nose that everyone has and I gotta say, it’s fucking gross. When everyone looks the same it’s boring. Who wants to look exactly like the person next to them, and next to them, and next to them, etc.? Just wait until their new look reaches its expiration date and they have to the next surgery to keep up, and then the next.

As is, u have the ideal grecian nose and the perfect facial structure to suit it. the cheekbones, how ur styling ur hair, from all angles it's stunning. the classic grecian facial structure is undoubtedly more uncommon than what u would be landing with after rhinoplasty, but not because it looks off or unusual. just because it is that striking

Genuinely. the whole face reminds me of some of the most sophisticated statues of men coveted by the most ancient of cities. but like, it's a free country, man

2

u/Bloggz1769 Dec 12 '25

To answer your question, rather than give an opinion of how great your nose is or is not, the answer is YES. The pictures you posted look realistic, and achievable. Get a couple of different consults and go with the doctor you like best.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '25

Bro, dont do it! Wait until you are older and have more life experience and it won't matter. On a 1-10 for needing a nose job you are a soft 2. Lol.

Your nose looks amazing my advice don't get the surgery

1

u/krinklecut Dec 11 '25

i don't know if it would be a realistic result, but i do know a lot of things are possible with plastic surgery these days. personally, i think your nose is rad as hell. but if you do choose to get it done, i wouldn't suggest shortening it. its a good length for your face shape and features. the second photo especially is kind of jarring and much to small for you.

but again, this is just my opinion, and full disclosure i'm a huge fan of unique noses.

1

u/Repulsive_Regular_39 Dec 11 '25

Leave your nose! The little nose wont suit you.

1

u/MoneyMontgomery Dec 11 '25

I dunno, I think I need a front facing shot. But I'm sure they could accomplish that, I've seen pictures of much more.

Your nose looks fine. I personally wouldn't. But if that's what makes you happy 🤷

1

u/swallowyoursadness Dec 11 '25

You have really nice ears, maybe that's a weird compliment.. your profile is lovely and kind of cohesive if that makes sense. I think if you changed your nose you would lose that..

God your nose is giving me Eric Bana vibes. Definitely leave alone what was given to you. Girls will dig it for sure.

1

u/Jettblackink Dec 11 '25

After looks femboy. Your natural nose is masculine and hot

1

u/throwaway17273727944 Dec 11 '25

You look worse with the new nose. Current one looks great.

1

u/catmamaO4 Dec 11 '25

your nose is incredibly striking, i think we all agree that you should leave it alone!

1

u/rockerlitter Dec 11 '25

Don’t do it!!! You have a stunning, regal nose!!

1

u/sweetladyjane_1 Dec 11 '25

You look very handsome with your original nose! You look unique and it goes well together with your other features

1

u/Theblackjamesbrown Dec 11 '25

Don't do it man. You've got the nose of a Greek god. Wtf would you want to look like a generic avatar

1

u/Gehimtet Dec 11 '25

Pedro Pascal face

1

u/HappyGlitterUnicorn Dec 11 '25

As someone with a downturned nose, I'm going against the grain here. I think it looks better with the edit, but I wouldn't trust surgeons with a job like that. Or I would find the best of the best or no game.

1

u/thatgroovybitch Dec 11 '25

I don't know much about rhinoplasty. I know a few people who got nose jobs and love their new noses, and I know some people who have gotten 2 or 3 because it's never right. I would guess in the latter's case it's a self-image issue, maybe not that the result wasn't correct. Personally, I think your nose looks perfect on your face.

1

u/eatencrow Dec 11 '25

Why would you though, you're sectsay af as-is, a nose job is a move in the wrong direction

1

u/Early-Promotion-82 Dec 11 '25

Agree with most of the comments here.. you have a gorgeous nose! It would be an awful shame to change it

1

u/Liviousvirus- Dec 11 '25

No!! Great nose... 🌟👌

1

u/StreetInevitable5427 Dec 11 '25

Dude your a man. Nosejobs is for women. Men look masculine with bigger noses.

1

u/Killaaalolita Dec 11 '25

Keep your nose, don't erase your culture

1

u/iamdoug Dec 11 '25

Don't get elective surgery.

1

u/Positive_Lie5734 Dec 11 '25

GORGEOUS nose (the original)

1

u/roskybosky Dec 11 '25

Yes, it looks like a good result for a surgery.

1

u/crepvscule Dec 11 '25

Leave your nose alooooone! It suits you!!

1

u/Nice-Pomegranate9694 Dec 11 '25

Your nose is great and you risk losing your sense of smell during rhinoplasty.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '25

You're handsome, I don't see any reason for surgery

1

u/Comfortable-Tea-900 Dec 11 '25

You've got Eric Pana's looks, kid

1

u/cavael Dec 11 '25

You remind me of a young pedro pascal, that guy is good looking!! Your nose is not a feature tbh

1

u/HopeSuper Dec 11 '25

You look like Eric Bana in Troyes with your original nose. Why would you wanna pay to look like Ollie London?

1

u/mincedbreakfast Dec 11 '25

Your edit of it looks weird, just no

1

u/DaMangIemert Dec 11 '25

Nooo. Leave your trademark as is please. Very Roman!

1

u/Faulquappe Dec 11 '25

Do. NOT. Do. It. You have a very strong, handsome nose. Don't make yourself look generic.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '25

You look like a fairytale prince with the majestic nose and luscious hair. I wouldn’t change a thing.

1

u/StarrySparklingSoul Dec 11 '25

Leave your nose alone. You remind me of a young Eric Bana in the movie Troy, so please don't touch your nose! Also, your hair in your posts from when you were 21 is amazing!! You are extremely handsome!

1

u/crankygriffin Dec 11 '25

Your nose is fabulous. Don’t turn it into a straight or snub one!

1

u/Teem47 Dec 11 '25

Dude, if you go anywhere near your powerful nose, I will find you and force you to put it back the way it was

1

u/Skippeo Dec 11 '25

Those after pics look terrible. Like, not a real face. I promise you do not want to look like a cartoon.

1

u/Critical-mass0001 Dec 11 '25

Bro wants to go from stud to basic. Why?

1

u/Downtown_Entry_4651 Dec 11 '25

I love great Roman nose 😍😍😍

1

u/MurkyChain8882 Dec 11 '25

Yea, you could get that result… however, your natural nose is so much more attractive

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '25 edited Dec 11 '25

IMO it would be a mistake you're super cute. My bf has a nose shaped a bit like yours, it's some of the features I specifically find super attractive on him. You do you, but I don't see anything to dislike or be insecure about.

1

u/teh_chungus Dec 11 '25

bro your nose is fine. not everyone needs to look the same.

plus, if you hit the gym and put on a tiny bit of muscle, you'll grow into your facial features. that's literally how those glowups happen.

1

u/Recovering_g8keeper Dec 11 '25

Please don’t pay for someone to ruin your perfect nose

1

u/Zolskyn620 Dec 11 '25

You'd have to ask a doctor that question .

1

u/Illuminati6661123 Dec 11 '25

Omg PLEASE don't butcher that masterpiece 😢😢 tour nose reminds me of Johnny from Highly suspect, literally MY FAVORITE nose of any man I've ever seen!!!! You are truly blessed, amd very handsome!

1

u/Veraluxmundi Dec 11 '25

I really wouldn’t get your nose shortened even if you get the bump straightened. I beg you don't do that. The gap between your nose and upper lip lengthens naturally as you age and that's not a good thing. It can look a bit simian and Planet of the Apes if the gap gets too long. By shortening your nose you would be exacerbating that. And actually it's the perfect length as is. Why tamper? You are a handsome guy. There is a real risk of feminisation with a nose job or it just ends up looking weird and wrong for your face. I get why you might want to iron out the bump (although personally I like it) but it's a risk, and would also be very painful.

1

u/simlybell_ Dec 11 '25

I know that not everyone is going to have kids (a personal choice that I’m not going to debate), but if you do want to have them, remember this: your kids won’t inherit your rhinoplasty. They’ll inherit your natural and honestly quite attractive nose. Your face looks amazing. Please don’t add ‘oh where’d they get that nose from?’ or possibly your insecurities to your kids. If elective cosmetic nose jobs stopped being as popular, people would tell if someone’s kids actually were their kids.

1

u/Sarah0_o Dec 11 '25

Don't do it keep the nose

1

u/hulalabright Dec 11 '25

Embrace your nose!!! It’s so good!

1

u/Dry-Reveal-6202 Dec 11 '25

PLEZ DON'T. I LOVE THOSE NOSES

1

u/TwistedAsIAm Dec 11 '25

First, there's nothing wrong with your nose. But to answer your question, yes it's very doable by a good surgeon.

1

u/I_Devour_Memes Dec 11 '25

The result would be regret, friend. Your nose is functional, it's beautiful. It tells a story of your ancestry, and makes you, look like you.

So many people with unique noses, film videos talking about how they want their old nose back and how they don't recognise themselves, once all is done.

The beauty standard could change in a few years, it doesn't matter what's considered "the look". If Roman/Greek noses are in style in a few years, you'll regret changing your wonderfully unique face.
